Me too thinks that there always have been a little too many rednecks on this forum.

Most people think Burroughs was a genius. Is killing one's wife less atrocious than having sex with under-aged persons, or what? He (Estrada) played bass good and could come up with some crazy falsetto-squeaking. That's enough for me to continue to think he's phantastic. Obviously he didn't have Jackson's lawyers or a big enough bank account to die well-respected or have an MTV feature week. Shame he was involved in some tasty music. And yes, cowboys, I'm a communist and don't want to be bothered with things like hell, repentance 'n such --

:P

No one is challenging his musicianship but what was done with these children is indefensible, murder is also an indefensible act , no one has defended that position. The fact that he may or may not have had a lawyer that could get him off, like others who may or may not be guilty is irrelevant. He is a 3 time looser and people who engage in this type of activity are mentally depraved and have never been known to change, but in fact repeat offend. He is a three striker and will never see the light of day and that is the way it is.

While I am not a religious man, I do not need any help to figure out taking advantage of a child is morally wrong and I know most atheist would agree…

Hey Plook!
What's with the bold writing?

We've had plenty of such discussions here in the past, before all the cool people ran from the zombies and trolls. Back then atheists were vast majority.
Me I recently converted to the church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I'd rather be a zombie than a troll.
If I only could.
I surely would.

So, just for the sake of discussion.....shouldn't Jimmy Page be in jail too?

Here's a video. I am posting this here because of Roy Estrada's costume. See if you can spot the irony.

Don't forget Jerry Lee Lewis and his 13 year old cousin, and Elvis had Priscilla wait until he returned from the Army, she was almost 14 when he left.Good ol' southern boys! How old was Ronnie before she became a Spector? The music biz and Hollywood have always had older men with very young women.Roman Polanski comes to mind and of course Michael Jackson liked all kids way to much.

And also, Frank mentioned in an interview during the late 60's-early 70's, that Don Preston had brought a couple 12-13 year-old girls with him across international boundaries while on tour. Didn't know about this, guess it was okay back then. Maybe he grew out of this, who knows?

Well, shooting towards a person's head with an armed gun when dead-drunk, then calling it accidental if the poor victim doesn't survive makes for a great punchline, that's for sure, thanks FD.

Hold your horses FD, go and vote for Santorum. Kneel and pray. But remember, it's often the most grimly determined that suddenly, deep-down, has that certain desire...

I am completely confused by the intended association to religion of a sense of right and wrong, most atheists I have heard speak have held that their sense of right and wrong is superior to people who base that sense on religion, since they do not need some mythology to detemine that sense for them...

This is a rough thread for buffalo and I'm surprised that he took on a topic that is so senitive with many people and I applaud him for doing so. Not because I have any issue with the law or how is has been applied to Roy, but once something is illegal, it becomes many times more difficult to talk about at all without seeming to be a criminal advocating the illegal practise. Anyone who sees the argument as invalid just has to turn up the hype and the person loses quick and easy. Just to add 2 cents to the argument, age laws of consent have been widely varied and often non-existent in various places over time. It is definately not a consensus argument as is the case with murder where it has nearly always and everywhere been illegal. If I were to try to come up with a rationale for why any given age should be required for consent, I'd have a very difficult time trying to pinpoint it. Older than 12? Sure. Younger than 22? Of course. What age in between there though is difficult to make an argument for. What is the criteria?
Do you ask Mick Jagger?
