While there were several incidents in Chicago in 2012, the same doesn't hold true for the previous year of 2011, where only one major event is listed....consider the myth that stricter gun laws cause more gun related mass murders debunked. Comparatively, the 2011 part of the list shows Florida, a state with among the most lax gun laws with 5 events...followed by Texas, another lax gun law state, with 4 events.

My hometown made the list in 2011, not long after the Republican controlled legislature, courts and govenor passed a right to conceal law....ironically speaking...

Just one more excuse, okay? I really like excuses. I'd hate to give them up completely.

You should be campaigning against taking showers......
Taking regular showers would seem to contribute significantly to health and hygiene, but according to Leah Feazel and Norman Pace, researchers at the University of Colorado at Boulder, a study of 45 showerheads in 9 cities, including New York, revealed that the water propelled from 40% of the nozzles they investigated displayed microbe counts of the respiratory pathogen mycobacterium avium, a close relative of the bacterium that causes tuberculosis, that were 100 times greater than background levels. The high pressure and elevated temperatures associated with hot showers produce a cloud of tiny germ-laden mist droplets, resulting in a potentially lethal aerosol that is capable of penetrating deep into the lungs of the hapless bather.

Harvard Study: Gun Control Is Counterproductive

The study, which just appeared in Volume 30, Number 2 of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy (pp. 649-694), set out to answer the question in its title: "Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder and Suicide? A Review of International and Some Domestic Evidence." Contrary to conventional wisdom, and the sniffs of our more sophisticated and generally anti-gun counterparts across the pond, the answer is "no." And not just no, as in there is no correlation between gun ownership and violent crime, but an emphatic no, showing a negative correlation: as gun ownership increases, murder and suicide decreases.

Nations with stringent anti-gun laws generally have substantially higher murder rates than those that do not. The study found that the nine European nations with the lowest rates of gun ownership (5,000 or fewer guns per 100,000 population) have a combined murder rate three times higher than that of the nine nations with the highest rates of gun ownership (at least 15,000 guns per 100,000 population).

................The vast majority of theser "incidents" are in states with lax gun laws. You don't need a statistic to see the obvious trend.

More guns = more death.

There aren't any excuses left. Just stupid people prone to paranoia-based maketing schemes.

I've lived my whole life in the state that has the infamous city known as the murder capitol of the world, and I, myself have looked down a gun barrel on more than one occasion. I have first hand experience in this subject.

You gun supporters have run out of excuses. The days of your hobby are numbered.

Some folks have brain damage or other learning disabilities. What about them? It's not their fault they are dumbfucks.

You are cruel and insensitive.

I'm a realist, who has seen way too much. You can take that any way you see fit.

Let me put it this way...When you've lived your whole life in a place where the murder capitol of the world is your own back yard, it's safe top say that you've seen more than even most enlisted people.

Now I understand why you are so wrong so often. You think you've seen it all. You sell yourself short with such delusions.

I haven't seen it all, but I've seen more than I care too.

BTW, point out specifically where I'm wrong. Can't wait for this...fire away Einstein...

You want me to play the spacebrother/disco boy game? I would but it never ends. A good game has to have an ending.

It's simply my opinion that your entire motivation for posting in this thread is wrong. It is also my opinion that you are prejudiced against gun owners and people with brain injuries. Furthermore, you are obsessed with murder statistics.

Out of the dozen or so of my posts in this thread, only one is technically a statistic. The rest are reported stories and/or responses to other posts. Regardless, all four of your stated opinions, being... my motivation for posting in this thread, my views towards gun owners, my views towards brain injured people (some bs you created, even though many of your posts in this thread read more like somebody whose prejudiced asgainst brain injured people, but obviously are attempting to project your own posting habits onto me), and statistical obsessions... are wrong.

As I said, and have been saying throughout this thread...you've got nothing. Not even excuses.

Regadless...

If you pay attention to the trend of these posts to where the vast majority of these mass shootings occur, they overwhelmingly happen most often in states with lax gun laws.

In response to the person who said to not go after the guns, go after the cause, look up the Fort Hood 11/5/2009 entry, where the psychologist is the one who killed 16 people and shot an additional 30 people by firing 100 rounds in a matter of minutes.

The cause is obviously too many guns.
