Don'tcha just LOVE the part where Obama says, "I am constrained by a system that our founders put in place"? I do. Because the last time I checked, Obama's...

* flip-flopped and downright LIED about almost EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN '08 campaign promise, apart from maybe Obamacare
* owned and operated by the Military Industrial Complex (just like Romney)
* destroyed almost all of the 4th Amendment and part of the 1st Amendment
* has added $6 trillion+ to the debt - which is more than ANY other US President in history...and in only 3 1/2 years - which brings the total to $16.5 trillion
* doesn't know JACK SHIT ALL about economics or fiscal responsibility to save his life and hence is driving the US (and much of the world) into a double-dip recession that will make the current Housing Bubble Crisis look like a CAKE WALK
* wants stricter gun control laws, but is partially responsible for the killings of TENS OF THOUSANDS of innocent civilians through collateral damage throughout the Middle East and Afghanistan, and knows stricter guns laws won't solve or come anywhere close to solving the problem

...for starters...

Again, the trend is the same as with all other gun death related statistics. The vast majority of gun related casualties occur in states with the most lax gun laws and highest gun ownership per capita. More guns per capita + weaker gun laws = more gun related crimes and deaths.

As cars get safer, gun deaths eclipse traffic fatalities in Michigan
If you live in Michigan, you’re more likely to die from a bullet than from a motor vehicle accident.

In 2010, the death toll from motor vehicle traffic accidents in Michigan was 942, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported. That same year, 1,056 people died from gunshot wounds, including 440 homicides and 599 suicides, according to the Michigan Department of Community Health...

If you own a gun and have it in your home you are more likely to use it on yourself or someone you know or love than to thwart a crime, simple fact... :smoke:

I also said that the Constitution guarantees our right to posses guns and no one is talking about taking that away… :!:

Now should we allow these weapons and magazines with mass killing potential, Constitutionally you should be able to own a tank, but the Founders never envisioned the challenges we face today and the Constitution is a living document and was meant to be modified, therefore restrictions would be in order…

There's nothing in the constitution that says the gov't can't limit what kinds of arms you may bear. The claims that banning assault weapons, high capacity clips/magazines and enforcing mandatory background checks on sales and transfers of guns as being an infringment on the 2nd Amendment rights, is only a sales pitch by the businesses and lobbying groups who are in the business to sell more product. Nothing more and nothing less.

Exactly! It is not a biblical tract.
