For fans of the Amazing Mr. Bruce Bickford, animation genius behind the twisted clay spectacles of "Baby Snakes," et al, take note: he's gonna be in LA June 22-24 for screenings of a new doc about him called "Monster Road" at the LA Film Festival.

He's normally very reclusive, so do not miss the chance to ask him questions (and have new ones arise).

"Monster Road" is chock full of new animation from Bickford, and looks deep into the mind and makeup of the Amazing Mr. to try and understand where his remarkable sensibility comes from. It has won 3 "Best Documentary" prizes so far this year, at Slamdance, the Ann Arbor Film Festival, and the Independent Film Festival of Boston.

There's more info at the film's web site:
<http://www.brighteyepictures.com>

And at the LA Film Festival's site:
<http://www.lafilmfest.com>

Also, Gerry Fialka will be screening Bruce's rarely-seen film from the mid-80s, "Prometheus' Garden," on Wed, Jun 23 at 10 pm at the Sponto Gallery, 7 Dudley Ave in Venice.
