FORTUNE COOKIE DREAMS is a Jordan Shapiro cd that features Ike Willis on vocals.<br>  I bought my copy the last time I saw Project Object. It's truely a "rock opera"<br>  Shapiro and Ike are the main players in the Joe's Garage stage production.<br>  I actually have a couple tracks of this I found when Napster was king.<br>  GREAT NEWS!!!!

the music for the "Joe's Garage - The Musical" was performed live by Jordan Shapiro's local Ann Arbor band at the time, The Element Orchestra, a 7-piece band w/ horns. Ike Willis sat in on guitar/vocals for a good part of the show, too.<br><br>"Sy Borg" was performed exactly how you might think it should be performed. Exactly what college-aged musical theater students always wanted to do.<br><br>"Keep it Greasy"  ended up being a post-curtain call/exit-music song, mainly because there wasn't enough time during rehearsals to learn the choreography and prepare the video aspects. <br><br>view video clips from the show at http://www.cosmosisproductions.com<br><br><br><br><br>

"Mary Don't Go" (lyrics: Joe Grossman [director of the show], music: Jordan Shapiro [musical director of the show]) was written into the show in order to 1) give the female lead, 'Mary', a feature piece, 2) establish more of a relationship between Joe and Mary, before Mary leaves Joe  3) showcase the songwriting team of Shapiro/Grossman.    (Jordan Shapiro was later hired by touring Zappa tribute Project/Object for keyboard duties from 2000-2002)<br><br>There was also a 'prologue' song written, "The Congress of the Portion Controllers", which started the whole show off, and led into "The Central Scrutinizer". did the central scrutinizer sound like zappa?<br>-edit- do they sing "why does it hurt when i pee?"<br>I sang that when i auditioned for the musical i'm in, "101 ways to kill yourself"

WOW!!!! Excellent musical! Did'nt ever think it could work...but they really brought the album to life Sure wish it could have been done somewhere near here. Very talented group of musicians, dancers, actors and singers!
