Reading through old postings, I saw alot of "<bump>"s. Having just found one on a new post, I needs must ask.... will some kind person explain what "<bump>' represents? Is it written intentionally by the poster as a short-form comment, or has the moderator removed something not-nice?

Thank you, Mr.G.G., but I'm still not sure what's up with that. The place I saw it used most recently is in an on-going post, so I'm not sure what was regurgitated from the past. Here's where I saw it....,

I was initially confused by that particular use of the <bump> myself. I'm guessing it's being used for a different purpose there. Maybe punknayowned could enlighten us there. Maybe I'm just an ignint mcnugget myself. But normally, as MGG says (as I understand it), it's a way to "put the ball back in play" - since many people (including myself) check activity on the forum by clicking the "View Posts Since Last Visit" link.
