There is no vs simple as bullshit can't beat facts :D

I wonder if disco boy realise that he said it took two years for ! and three years for overnite sensation too sell 500.000 each in USA,remember now that he also said gail said 4 times more total for the rest of the world, that be 2 million each in 5 year span for 2 LP's,4 million off two of them and he say the 60 million all together is high and starts having guesses.
But zappa said SY was best seller with 1.6 million in 1989

I don't understand your math. Please be clear.

I always wondered about the figures for Franks albums. I did a powerpoint presentation on Frank for high school 5 years back and couldn't find a consistent number anywhere. The powerpoint went quite well anyhow (I showed some footage from Baby Snakes namely the black page section) but it still irritates me to this day.

To give a possible insight, here are some numbers of classic albums that I asked of the musician themselves.

Moving Waves - Focus. 1,000,000. I asked Thijs Van Leer in 2005. Only a Million, despite it hanging off the wall in Mindy's dad's music shop.

Folk Blues and Beyond - Davy Graham. 3,000. I asked in about 1991, before any re-releases were ever around.

Considering this LP kicked off a movement and influenced a breed of guitar players from Jimmy Page to Bert Jansch, these figures show how difficult it is to make a living selling records unless you were the Osmonds.

I love that album! also in and out of focus and focus 3.

Considering that Zappa released approx. 400,000 albums in his lifetime, I don't think the 70 million figure sounds too exaggerated...
