I posted this in General, but that's probably the wrong place. Forgive my ignorance, but I'm new to message boards.

Dear ZFT,

I always find it sad that Mr Zappa’s assimilation, application, and visionary use of technology in his compositions is seemingly overlooked. But then, perhaps that’s a testament to his mastery of the subject.

My question concerns the 6 channel sound, pioneered for the EM project. Was any of the technology documented in any audio journals ( I don’t recall reading about it in Computer Music Journal at the time), and more importantly, is any of it patented? I envisioned a project that would require 8 channel sound in a performance space almost 20 yrs ago, and only now feel that I’m ready to tackle it. Any information or directions that you could point me towards on this matter would be highly appreciated.
