I'm an aspiring filmmaker and have thought for sometime that making a movie out of Joe's Garage would be a great project to do in the future if I got successful enough to do so. Does the idea seem good, or do you think it would suck?

Well, I always pictured joe look like Ike Willis, because he does the voice, but I get the feeling the Joe might be white, and has an ugly fro. Like Roy Estrada in Baby Snakes. I also have some great ideas for "Watermelon in Easterhay" that would look kind of Bill Plimptonish. If you ever saw "The Tune" you'd probably know what I mean. And at the very end, during Green Rosetta, you get every single person who was ever linked to Frank Zappa working the Muffin Utility Reasearch Kitchen and singing along.
Here's some ideas for a "Joe's Garage" movie:

• It should be mostly live-action, but there should be some animation in the film as well.
• The animation should be rotoscoped (NOTE: Rotoscoping is the process of filming a scene, tracing it, and then animating it).
• Cast TheCentralScrutinizer as Gay Bob. ;) :o
you can be the stunt bum then for me to practice on :o

Yes, Live action and animation. that is what I was thinking also. But speaking of rotoscope, well, I just saw the original cartoon version of Lord Of The Rings from 1978 which was done in that way, so I would have to be real careful not to make it suck. Can you believe the guy who created Ren and Stimpy used to work for Ralph Bakshi?

But Powdered Toast Man, What about Muddy Mud Skipper?

Central Scrutinzer I would just use the recordings that Zappa did, and he would look like the picture in the album sleeve. He's that weird U.F.O. type thingy with limbs and some foot coming out of him. But who would be the guy holding him and eating a sandwich.

And Gay Bob, who better to play Gay Bob than "Punky Meadows"!

I would only animated about half of it, ala Roger Rabbit. I would want celebraties to actually play some parts. As for sandwich man, hows about Jon Polito?

Jim Neibors could play Father Riely.

It would be cool if Bald Headed John was played by the man himself, John Smothers. Does anyone know if he is still alive or not?

I don't think the Olsen twins' 'mammalian protuberances' are big enough to play Mary. ;)
