One of the best things about Apostrophe/Overnite Sensation is the black chicks.
cool! I'd love to play this song live with a band, but I haven't found anyone capable enough of playing any of the bass parts (I can play several of the guitar parts, just not the solo note-for-note. I tend to get lazy that way and start improvising. Spontaneous compositions right? ;))
Just a side note - Jack Bruce played on the lp--
Franks was asked what he thought of Jack's playing , Frank's reply ..." he's too busy " :-X

Yep , Jack Bruce is a fantastic bass player AND song writer. As far as Frank's comment , I always thought the bass was what made the song ( Apostrphe ). I would love to see the Cream reunion. My brother saw Bruce and Baker a few years back - said it was one of the best shows he ever saw . :)

Jack Bruce is amazing on that album but if lead bass ain't your thing, I guess Zappa has an argument for his case! As for Jim Gordon, I just found out, and this is probably well known around here, that he's in jail for killing his mom. Did anyone else know about that? He did some work with George Harrison and, of course, Eric Clapton (cowrote Layla) and I'm a big fan of all the guys he worked with and I'd never heard that. Anyway, off topic rant. ;D
the bass on there is awesome! Jack Bruce was always a kickass bassist. no doubt about that. I really admire it when people play lead bass--you don't hear it too often anymore.
If you like "lead bass" check out the Mountain stuff with Felix Pappalardi. He was the "lead" bass MASTER!! R.I.P.
