I just got the complete In a Silent Way Sessions. A wealth of interesting jams. Lots of it are very different from what ended up on the album. And very much in the vein of "How did that.." from Lumpy Money. Higly reccommended.

And honestly, I guess Miles would turn his back on most people, including an unknown 22-year-old guy.

I always thought Miles was a pretty crappy trumpet player but he made up for it with his other skills and vision.

I like Miles capacity to surround himself with good players. And I really liked him as an organist.

the garrick theater was right across the strret from the village gate (miles played there alot in the late 60's)not to mention hendrix used to play alot in the cafe down stairs from the garrick.so it was probably entirely possible to see hendrix, miles davis & the mothers in the same night w/o even having to walk too far.shit man thats a whole lot of great music in one city block.wish iwas alive for that one.

The two double live cds recorded in Japan are brilliant. Pangaea and Agharta. I tend not to listen to as much of his 80s output - tutu and that stuff doesn't do it for me
