Okay, having seen the clip, I'll say this-
it's ridiculous not because of racism, or anything like that, but just because it's stupid. I mean, come on. You're talking about a sports game and that's all you have to say? That should be punishment in and of it's self- that the world knows that THAT'S what he had to fall back on when he had no idea how to do his damn job.

Not that his banning will cause any tears over here, but personally I could just care less about him. Just another idiot with nothing to say.

I think the fact that Jesse Jackson is going after him is hilarious. The Pot calling the kettle black for sure. He has made numerous comments about Jews in the past (Hymietown, anyone?) and we all know about his experiences with hoes.

Hoes, are they movin' too slow?
Have you mind us,
Uncle Imus . . .
We look pretty hard core in these uniforms (Rutgers U)
Unless we get sprayed with a hoe
It ain't bad in the day
If Moonves squirts it your way
'Cept in the winter, when it's froze
An' it's hard if it hits
On yer nose
On yer nose

Just keep yer hoes
To the CBS, they say
Will Jesse id us,
Uncle Imus . . .
I can't wait till my nappy is full-grown
I'll just throw 'way my Doo-Rag at home
I'll take a drive to New Jersey
Just before dawn
An' knock the little jockeys
Off the rich people's lawn
An' before they get up
I'll be gone, I'll be gone
Before they get up
I'll be knocking the jockeys off the lawn
Down in the dew

Oh, my heart is broken...

You are such an old fart ... The things you worry about: if there is a FADE OUT here, if someone replied to MGG's thread there... You are hopeless!

I somehow suggested that thread to jimmie. I don't care where it gets replied, as long as it is discussed somewhere. Now go back to harass some more newbies elsewhere, Mr Fade Out...

Oh, BTW, the youtubevideo can be watched HERE:

Politicians are boring. But misogynist rappers are not.

I shall use 'I Wanna Pimp You Hoe' by Too $hort as evidence:
I wanna pimp you hoe (pimp you hoe)
I'm the only pimp you know (that pimp you know)
Make that money when you go (make that money hoe)
I just wanna spend yo' dough (spend yo' dough)
Give a pimp what I need (what I need)
'Kay, while I puff my weed (while I puff my weed)
Buy you all the stuff I see (all that stuff I see)
You wanna get fucked by me.. by me..

I know you think I'm crazy, based on how retarded I get
All these pimps on the mic, bitch I started that shit
When Snoop was in elementary, I rapped on hella pimp beats
Keep the rhymes in a big-ass box, that's never empty
In 1981 I said, "Bitch suck my dick!"
And Freddie B, had the tooth fairy turnin tricks
Befo' Eazy-E, Ice Cube, N.W.A.
I was spittin pimp rhymes, way up in the bay
I grew up in L.A., back in the day mayne
I moved to Oakland, and soaked up that bay game
Mo' bounce to the ounce, we was bumpin Spoonie Gee
Or Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill to me
In 1982 we had fun in the streets
All they played was Too $hort, and Run-D.M.C. nigga
And I was rappin X-rated back then
I was just a lil' kid, but a real mack pimp

Now all these niggaz, pimpin, without no hoes
All these niggaz, rappin and can't rock no shows
And the rest of y'all frontin, in your videos
Gettin it, actin like some silly hoes
You ain't pimpin mayne! You don't talk like we talk
You like a wannabe gangbanger tryin to C-walk
You ain't a crip motherfucker, and you ain't a B-dawg
You actin way too phony, and now you pissin me off
Fake gangster who you killed? Fake pimp what you sayin?
Yo' album sound fake, and you're fuckin up the game
You make a lot of rap fans, hate this shit
$hort Dawg got a new one? I can't wait to get it
It's called "Up All Nite," with Lil Jon and Jazze Pha
And if you ain't heard yet, you know I have to say that
Bitches jammin, I know you want it now
$hort Dawg got the hottest shit comin out

You know I have to say that
Bitches jammin

First off, he meant that as a joke. Secondly, he's in a free country. Third, why should his bosses cater to people who were offended - why should they have to. Fourth, do people not have the balls to shrug something an old guy in front of a mic says? Cry me a river, Al Sharpton.

Fifth, even in his biggest market (NYC) he was on an AM station! If not for the "joke" being posted on the internet nobody would have even known about it.

Un-fucking believeable....

Poconos DJ fired for repeating Imus slur as part of contest
MICHAEL RUBINKAM The Associated Press

ALLENTOWN -- A radio station in the Poconos fired its longtime morning DJ on Wednesday for holding an on-air contest in which listeners were encouraged to say "nappy-headed ho," the slur that got talk-show host Don Imus suspended.

Gary Smith, of the "Gary in the Morning" show on WSBG-FM in Stroudsburg, was fired after station management reviewed a tape of Tuesday's broadcast, said Rick Musselman, executive vice president of station owner Nassau Broadcasting Partners L.P.

Smith told listeners to call WSBG and say "I'm a nappy-headed ho" for Tuesday's "Phrase that Pays" contest, Musselman said. He said three of the listeners who called were awarded tickets to a NASCAR promotion at a local club.

"Gary has done a tremendous amount of good in the community over the past 17 years as the morning voice of WSBG, but his comments Tuesday crossed the line," Musselman said in a statement.

Fired: Musselman said that Smith was fired and not suspended because he uttered the slur in a premeditated manner, "with full knowledge of the reaction to Don Imus' use of the exact same phrase." Smith could not be reached by The Associated Press for comment. He told The Morning Call of Allentown he regretted the comment.

"What I said was stupid, and I'm sorry," Smith told the newspaper.

He shouldn't be, because he never condoned the action.
Man, everything's just going straight to hell, isn't it?
Wish Zappa or Vonnegut was here for this...

Yeah, sticks and stones and that whole mess...

I didn't think people actually took Imus seriously.

Good thing he didn't play YAWYI--that's got the N-word in it.

so they probably can't play "i wish" by stevie wonder anymore, right? he's gonna get in trooouble..."lookin' back on when i was a little nappy-headed boy..." i don't like imus' phraseology, but it was nothing to get fired over. maybe suspension, but not let go. have they ever watched mind of mencia with carlos mencia? he is an equal oppurtunity offender, and he's funny while doing it. i heard al sharpton saying th other day, that he had a group that protested the movie "barbershop". for what? they did'nt like the monolouges cedric the entertainer's character did? hit too close to home? seems as though he made some jokes about mr. sharpton in one. geez--sometimes, people need to take it easy.

Ahh: we've finally found the crux of the biscuit.

Frank Zappa was able to say "nigger" on YAWYI because he fought for the right to do so. He started Zappa Records because he was sick of Warner Brothers messing with his music. Then he started Barking Pumpkin because the distributor for Zappa Records (Polygram) was also trying to mess with his music. It cost Frank a lot of time and a lot of money to gain full control of his own products, but it was worth it to him.

Move ahead twenty-five years, and we find Howard Stern getting his daily rectal exam from the FCC. So what did he do? He pulled a Frank Zappa. He managed to gain control over his own product by moving to satellite radio. Now noone has their hand up his ass... unless he wants them to.

Don Imus didn't control his own product. He worked for CBS and NBC, who had no interest in backing him up if he did something really stupid. So now he isn't just getting the friendly little finger, he's taking a ride on the cosmic utensil.

And that's Uncle Frankie's lesson for the day: if you don't control your product, you better watch your ass...

The thing that pisses me off the most about this shit is that it totally overshadowed the fact that Kurt Vonnegut died. If this was a fair and just world, that would have been a front-page story, and the whole Imus thing would be a little paragraph in the back of the paper somewhere.
