Frank Zappa has been sighted mowing my neighbors lawn. My kids are convinced it's him. I must say the guy has FZ's early 70's look down.

Note: he is extra careful cutting around the vegetable garden. I suspect he's a Mason too. Run with that, conspiracy theorists!

No way. FZ lives around here.
One morning on my newspaper round I came across a man with grey goatee, slender body, riding his bicycle. I said hello, in Dutch, and he said "Hi!" with a big fat american accent. I thought I'd fallen asleep, or had been hallucinating, but the next day, I saw him again!

Ergo: FZ lives in Stratum.

There are three Franks working in record shops in town, as well as one who works in Sound Control musician's shop who is (no lie) an incredible guitar player who always uses an SG.

Back in the mid-70's,when both my parents lived in California, my mother (before she and my dad got married) used to be great friends with a guy who looked just like FZ. He had the same nose, same hair, same eyebrows. My mom tells me that people were always coming up and asking him if he was Frank Zappa, and sometimes he would go along with it.
Once my mother and her best friend (who was dating him) were around when somebody came over and asked the aforementioned question. Before he could say anything, my mother's best friend blurted out, "Yeah, and we're his groupies."

His name was David, and he was a chef. His parents were straight from Lebanon, and he always wanted to go back to his roots at some point.
The weird thing is, nobody knows what happened to him. My mother and her best friend tried to track him down a few years ago, but they've never been able to find him.

I'm sorry but you're mistaken. Frank used to cut the grass. A roller-headed lady's front lawn. In Beverly Hills, just before dawn. He was a very nice boy.

This was a real sighting but on TV.
I never expected to see FZ on the History Channel but they used him and
Billie Holiday as examples of famous people who came from Maryland in the series, THE STATES. Just a quick picture of him from the seventies.
Took me by suprise.

No, but they're jokes, you would just appear to be a moron.

why, because i (sic) left the apostraphe out of "I'm"?
i think you are the moron if you judge me by how i type on an internet forum and not on what i actually say. And by the way, when i say something like "I'm Frank Zappa", i am joking.

Crud, Raoul:

This post abuot FZ Sightings was intended as optional entertainment for Zappa fans. It worked OK until you decided to have a pissing match. Take it elsewhere willya?

Start your own thread abusing each other. Then everyone will always know where to go for THAT option in entertainment. Who knows, you might get a ton of hits!

Agree. I'm posting this here again, to remember the highly aggravating Isaac-JPFunk fights that ruined every thread, and to show history does repeat itself:

You, 4, are far more tactful and polite than I would have been.
I'm tired of every thread having these same two people fighting in it.
It's like 3rd grade all over again.

I'm sorry I had a real sighting.
To sorta make up for that-----> my mailman looks like Dweezil who looks like Frank. So, FZ delivers my mail and I had to report him twice for leaving my gate open and letting my dog out a year ago.
That help?

So I make a few harmless jokes about your grammar and you take it seriously? Jeez, lighten up Raoul. Besides, how many times have you made disparaging comments about me? I'm not trying to start fights with anyone, I just say what's on my mind. Anyway, let's be friends and end this pointless shit.

Are you sure you weren't dreaming this? I think maybe you fell asleep with the headphones on with Zappa playing some bluesy kinda thing. Whippin Post maybe. Or maybe Billy the Mountain, hence the "Billie" reference. On Memorial Day. "Billie" "holiday". Admit it, it makes a lot more sense than you actually seeing Frank on some History Channel documentary.

Actually, doesn't he have his own documentary on A&E?

Crud, Raoul:

You seem like decent guys, so I'll tell you what, why don't I start one new thread for you to fight and another one for you kiss and make up. That's TWO threads, just for YOU, ABSOLUTELY FREE! (I don't use all caps lightly - they're expensive as you know.) The point is: please stop hijacking threads. OK? Thanks.
