Living in tents, eating bad food, being an MC when most people couldn't understand a word he was saying. He was not a very happy camper.

Okay, it was in Belgium, but it was still the Paris Music Festival, which is an odd name for it given that it was held in a turnip field a long way from Paris. When people talk of this festival though, they usually say it was in France. Maybe it didn't make much difference to FZ.

I think Grimpo was referring to the Geneva show referenced by Flea. Geneva is most definitely "not France".

Yes, I forgot he had referred to the "throwing things on stage" incident. None the less, Belgium is not in France.

BTW, here's an interesting pic I found that also makes the claim about Zappa playing with Pink Floyd pretty clear.

Edit: Whoops, I thought this was something that appeared soon after the festival, but it turns out it's the cover of a bootleg which appeared in 2006.

Edit: Fuck this not being able to embed more than 3 quotes bullshit. I was just reading this post and decided to edit it because my online pictures have moved and ended up with a real hassle.

it was supposed to take place in france, but the authorities stopped the festival, so it was moved to belgium.

It would be funny if the originator of this thread turned out to be a spammer. Their post count remains at one.

Maybe it's a French marketing spambot fishing for information on how to make their country more attractive to tourists. Ha! :mrgreen:

Yep , fries with mayonaise, the real stuff.
Not the sweet rubbish thing AKA frietsaus, or the chemical McDonalds stuff.

Say what you will about McDonald's fries, but you gotta admit industrial waste does have a distinctive flavor to it.

I, for example, have grown an immunity to industrial waste.

Me too... though I still prefer no sauce on the fries. Or better still: no fries.
I love France. But it's a pain in the ass if you get stuck there and you don't speak the language, which has happened to me on a number of occasions.If there ARE English speakers, you can't listen through their accents.

Parts of hell are still left in France. These have taken shape of international camping sites, can be identified by their amount of stars (3 and up), the presence of a swimming pool / disco / friday bingo / mini golf / evening entertainment, and the vast amount of signs at the accueil.

Ok today i received the Torture DVD along with a T-shirt.
Had to go to the Post office to pick it up cause the custom guys
had a look at the package. Here's the Deal.

Torture DVD =21.98 $
Hot Rats T =30.00 $
Shipping =11.50 $

Total =63.48 $

Euro crossover bonus (1 euro = 1.55$) so 63.48$ = 40.95euros

But....
Customs TAX = 15 euros

Total cost 55.95 euros = 86.72 $ for a DVD and a T-shirt! :shock:

The custom tax is really a fee that they charge you because a guy opened your package and they are actually making you pay the guys salary. How fucked is that? It's not at all an excise tax or sticking a VAT value on the thing as at first i thought.
France is Hell after all!
