I'm big into confessional threads; kind of a virtual soul-cleansing, if you will. And I'm not even Catholic.

Anyhoo, any of you with balls can share with us the thing you like that might most put you at odds with the cool crowd.... that dark skeleton in your closet... could be music, could be ballet, could be a Bette Midler movie...

Mine is Gloria Estefan. There, I said it. I like her music.

If you wish to make fun of that, feel free, but have the courtesy to disclose your own guilty pleasure.

I also like Slayer, in case you thought I was a pussy, BTW.

There was a thread like this before, in which Jimmie D once said something along the lines of "I never associate guilt with pleasure." I wish I could find the exact thread so I can get the quote right, but...that's basically how I feel about the concept of a guilty pleasure.

Maybe Guilty Pleasures = music that Zappa fans might make fun of you for listening to.

Some of mine - Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Queen.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" has always been a favorite of mine. "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Under Pressure" are pretty good songs. I've never really bought any of their albums.

EDIT:

I had accidentally typed the name of a Weird Al parody instead of the original. WHOOPS.

I've been watching The Young and The Restless every day (or night, in my case) since September or October of last year and I can't stop.

She's really cool live. And she plays a Telecaster, so she has to be cool.

You should've been around during the ZPZ VIP soundcheck on May 15th, 2006... They played some Estefan...
DZ: "One day Gloria Estefan will come and play with us... and that will be the end of the world..."
