I've been a (lacto) vegetarian for almost a year, last meat I ate was a pepperoni pizza last february. I know it doesnt sound like very long, but keep in mind that I'm only fifteen :D. I don't eat anything with gelatin in it either though (marshmallows, jello, etc.). And having jsut finished The Real Frank Zappa Book (got it for christmas), his favourite food WAS fried spaghetti.

Thanks beebs for dragging it up. Actually, chimpanzees eat meat and go hunting in packs to catch smaller monkeys and other prey. They are also reported to have attacked human babies and snatched them from their mothers. I think this was mentioned in another thread not long ago actually.

I think this was mentioned in another thread not long ago actually.[/quote]

You beat me to it UB! Exactly what I was gonna say. If no one else has mentioned it, I will say that humans have two sets of teeth, the flat grinders for dealing with vegetable matter and canine and sharp front teeth for dealing with meat. Our digestive system does not resemble that of meat eaters, which is designed to push carcasses quickly through before they rot, but they also do not resemble those of ruminants, who can eat much coarser matter than we. The conclusion, we are omnivores, our inheritance from our primate ancestors. It fits in with our nature as the non-specialist animal. Keeps us from running into an evolutionary dead end.

As an additional note: I am not a vegetarian, but I only eat animals that eat vegetables. Does that count? ;D

Sab
