Have you ever done this?

Some people believe our lives are profoundly influenced by whatever pop song was #1 on the day we were born, (well they can if they want!).

My number #1's are:
'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US
'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK
'Ben' by Michael Jackson in Australia

See which songs you get

Not an auspicious start...

Bonham was Bonzo - drummer for zeppelin. Died in the fine old rock tradition; choked on his own vomit. Reminds me of Spinal Tap...

UK ...... Dean Martin ...... Memories are Made Of This
US ...... Kay Starr ........... Rock and Roll Waltz

I don't know how accurate these are but I can't find the Australian one. I've been searching my nuts off and there's a whole mass of stuff tangled together out there in Google Land. Does anyone have any good links to offer?

Some people here are worried about seeming old I notice but Dean Martin and Kay Starr??

Thanks Fido.

OZ ...... "Tennessee" Ernie Ford ........... Sixteen Tons

Apparently this hit was being covered simultaneously by two people, the other being Frankie Laine. But the chart doesn't make it clear which of the two had taken it to number one in OZ, it just lists both their names. Weird.
