I've GOT to stop taking naps and leaving the television on TBS. This one's on every day lately.

I have to talk when Aiden Quinn's on camera, 'cos his accent in that movie is terrible. He's the American equivalent of Liam Neeson when it comes to pretending to be something he's not in a movie. Awful.

Just tried to sit to Catwoman to see if it's really that bad.

...it is.

Columbo with a dash of Jim Carrey? Who could resist that?

I've only seen the 1st and the 4th and all are equally bad/good.

And apparently there is a new movie, Toxic Twins: The Toxic Avenger V!

Click!

And a musical!

With a soundtrack! hahaha

Saw some of Son of Sinbad today.

Image

Sinbad stands in front of a cliff face and says "Open Sesame".
Inside the cliff, a woman is with a horse tethered to a turnstile. She hears Sinbad speak, then turns to the horse: "Alright Sesame, let's go". The horse then opens the cliff face door.

OK, so.. I sat through The Pebble And The Penguin for Tim Curry, I sat through Barbie in The Nutcracker for Tim Curry, I sat through Scary Movie 2 for Tim Curry... but this was just a bridge too far.

Sat through Barbie in The Three Musketeers.

Yes.

You really shouldn't tamper with a classic. What they did to EMF's Unbelievable... there's no forgiveness for that.

Didn't see anything lately, just trying to get the bot out of the list.

I sent Mikey a PM as suggested in the Forum Announcements. So far nothing, then again coming from me perhaps he thought I was joking. Maybe he's just busy, try sending him one yourself, perhaps you'll get his attention.

Thats right, Avatar.
What's all the fuss about? Visually striking but same old formula... man (white man from "civilization") employed to destroy peaceful people, has change of heart and then fights his corporate employer and thus becoming a leader to the people he tried to murder.

I left ten minutes early having had more than I could take.

Avatar leaves audience depressed. James Cameron’s 3D sci-fi epic may have been a little too real for some fans, who say they’ve experienced depression –even had suicidal thoughts– after watching the movie Avatar. Thousands of Avatar fans are complaining that they are uncomfortable with the state of reality after seeing the film because they long to enjoy the beauty of Pandora, the enticing utopia featured in the movie, CNN reported this week.

THANK YOU, milt! i have said before that i had no interest in "avata"r, but i'm so glad there are others. and this movie won a golden globe for best drama! wha? i know, award shows are silly (even tho i enjoy the globes), but it's crazy. because it made a shitload of money? and james cameron won best director for the movie---how did he direct it? it's mainly motion-capture, right? the beginning is live action, i believe, but at least titanic had REAL people in it. ten or fifteen years ago, i may have wanted to see this, but not now. if people are depressed after the movie.....it's a movie!!!! go see a documentary about the holocaust or watch the news on the earthquake in haiti to feel depressed. with haiti, you can at least make a donation to help out.

btw, if anyone saw the golden globes, one of my favorite moments was when "the hangover" won for best comedy---great choice. nice to see an actually funny film win--whether it's highbrow or lowbrow. anyway, they cut to nora ephron ripping up what might have been her speech for winning" it's complicated"---she was pissed off! aw, poor baby. hilarious hollywood tantrum.

from hearing about avatar, and reading reviews, I had already begun to suspect the same old crap under a new disguise, just the way you describe it, milton.

thanks to your post, I have decided not to even give it a chance now. 8)

Avatar IS VERY visually striking. That's the whole point and based on that I give it a thumbs up. I agree the story is not unique, but so what?

I saw Avatar last night, and yeah, I wasn't impressed. The script is hideous, and even the visuals didn't do much for me. I felt like I was watching a 3D video game most of the time.

I hope you watched the interview with Tommy Wiseau that's on the DVD. It's hilarious.
