I was just reading an old SOS Article from September 2004 and Dweezil mentioned that Apostrophe & Overnite Sensation were being re-released in 5.1 Surround.
I always thought these should be the 1st two, as they were the only ones ever released in quadraphonic in the 1st place.
However this has not been the case so far, so what's up?
I have one player for SACD and another one for DVD Audio and about 6 albums in total to play on them.
In my opinion the best surround album so far is Dark Side Of The Moon and I'm not even a Pink Floyd fan, this being the only album I own by them.
I'm still looking forward to hearing a proper version of "One Size" without the ludicrous blanket reverb that was added on the cd version, for some reason known only to whoever put it on - I'm lying actually as I have the gold version which doesn't have the crappy reverb.....same goes for a couple of others regarding the reverb ludicrousocity.
It would be nice to hear Zoot Allures not sounding as though it's being played from within a suitcase.......and "Ruben" without the archeologist bass/drums......What was he thinking???
I'm on a roll now and could go on for hours, but alas - work she calls......
Someone at UMRK should get on the case with these as I aint getting any younger

You may as well. With a tone like that, your chances of getting an answer are about the same as your chances of being struck by lightning while a shark is biting you...

I might be the only Zappa fan alive who actually kinda enjoys the bass mix in Ruben. I think it adds another dimension. I know, I know...I'm an idiot bastard

I suppose you have to look at all the angles on this overdub thing. Ray Collins' voice is pretty unique and imagine an argument involving replacing his voice? None the less, I like the overdubbed versions of Reuben and Money. I wonder what people are making of the overdubbed Lumpy Gravy, which I think is great. Ultimately, I think he should have aimed at doing two versions of each one he wanted to overdub, one that was as close to the original as possible and the other with whatever wizardry he wanted to apply, that way he may have avoided the controversy altogether. But, as he says in the article below, he was aiming at a younger audience and he wanted his new versions to be the ones that were available as his albums.

A funny thing in this article is Mark Pinske complaining about what Zappa did but he can't even remember the name of the album properly.

First, the picture has to be already on the web. Either on your own web page (if, that is, you have one), or on a (free) web hosting site (like Flickr). Once there, it has a link (URL) which you copy onto your Zappa post, then highlight it, and click the "img" button.
Play around a bit...you'll finger it out.

You need to get the address of the actual picture, not just the web page it's sitting on.

Hey Joel, the problem you had previously was that your picture was on a web page with other stuff on it so copying the link from the address bar wouldn't work. You need to either find a way to get the picture to load in a window on it's own to copy the address bar or right click on the picture and select "Copy Image Address" from the list of options in the contextual menu to get hold of the image's url.

Still waiting for an answer....
Are you naive enough to think they bother reading this lot?

Of course they read this shit, we are a significant part of their little cottage industry, they may not want to interact with us, but I am betting they do monitor us.
