I'm a big fan, but I don't think he's a genius. I don't think many people are.

I don't throw around the term "genius" lightly as I think it's overused. But I DO think it applies to Frank...

He is my all time fav. composer , and on a Canadain C.B.C classical radio show listeners voted him number 3 all time composer behind Bethoven and Motzart ,i was impressed becouse its a classical muzik show,i don't know if he was a genius mabey Tessa or Bugs Bunny .Zappa had the resorses to make muzik and gave a dedicated effort to this craft thankfully to us fans of his muzik.Zappa was definately way ahead of his time ,again fortunately it was in the 20th century where recording devices exists.

i love the complexity and variety of his music. the man was a musical genius and extremely under rated. i have been a fan for the last 30 + years and never get tired of his music, especially the guitar solos!!!!!!!!

What I like about him most is that he was so right in how he went about being a leader. As hard as he worked his players, he worked harder.

I like his way with words, both spoken and sung. His compositions blow my mind. His guitar work is amazing, but most interesting before he started hiring "stunt" guitarists.

If you're strictly taking about the music, he may be. I was thinking overall.

The thing I like most about Frank is that I think that he didn't take himself too seriously as a musician, but he took music VERY seriously.

Not really a parody but a tribute. Dweezil plays the opening guitar solo.

This about sums it up for me. He found ways to make music beautiful, even if the lyrics were vulgar, or even sometimes immature. There were always things to be taken away from his music even if it might not have seemed that way after first listen.
