lol...The low is still over the warm Gulf Stream and it ain't gonna make landfall as it comes up the coast. If things stay like this we're gonna get dumped on, if it intensifies from the warm water, we're really gonna get dumped on.

Looks like the folks in Philly are really gettin into the thick of it now....NYC next up, then here

I got all the hatches battened down and Turner classic ran a bunch of Bogey movies, I recorded a few I've never seen...It All Came True, Across the Pacific(I might have seen this one), The Wagons Roll at Night, All Through The Night, You Can't Get Away With Murder...all have Bogie in them...

I'm starting with Brother Orchid, gangster movie with Bogey and EG Robinson

Lol, Hows the weather?

By the time it hits us, it will be mostly petered out. We are lookin' at a foot, maybe. I will still stay inside where it is warm. I have the quad out back, plugged in and ready to plow.

I wish we were getting dumped on here in Ohio! It seems the big storms always miss us until later in the winter.

Here? Freezing badly. For the first time since 1981 (that's pre-BBP) we actually have a chance at a white Christmas. Not much of a comfort though when you have to get up at 5AM and peddle with an enormous amount of newspapers on slippery roads with legs that seem to fall off every time you move them, fingers that freeze through the gloves, and facial skin that peels itself off.

I'm not sure my friend in Cleveland(Lakewood), would agree with you.

Takes all kinds. I grew up east of Cleveland in "the snow belt" and loved every second. They get tons of snow out there. However, I currently live in the western part of the state. We're too far from Lake Michigan to get any of that snow, and at the wrong angle for any lake effect coming off of Erie. I know people who live in Cleveland and hate the snow. Can't figure that out--why not move?

It's supposed to be pretty cold. You'd better take an airplane.

Fucking freezing here - minus 15 degrees C. We went out for a brisk (and I mean brisk) walk after inviting friends over for brunch at 11. They all stayed till 5 p.m., but proved strangely reluctant to be tempted outside....
However, at least my nasal hair has yet to freeze (then I know its really cold) and the house is as warm as toast.

With the exception of the short days and the shovelling I quite like a good winter. Oh, and I'm not too fond of the heating bills either. But I get to fill my flask and get out on the ski trails with a head full of Zappa. It's the best when it's like -20, when I stop for a break and some refreshment I get enveloped in the steam that's pouring off me. I started taking the camera with me once I graduated away from repeatedly throwing myself on my face and have got some pretty nice pics. I thought anyway. And as long as you're not in a frantic hurry, winter driving can be a hoot. I'm like Steve McQueen in a minivan. Or not.

That's some nice wood there knepo. Hmmm, that don't sound quite right. You got me doing the Python bit with the Spam song and the Vikings. "I DON'T LIKE BIRCH!"

We're about -5C right now but it's supposed to drop to -10 tonight. Clear now but calling for some snow tomorrow. I expect that our electric mattress pad (I had to get rid of the electric blanket after one of the dogs tried to fry herself) will be supplemented by a couple of dogs and maybe the cat. Crowded but toasty.
