I had an 84 and it was the best winter car I've ever had. Always started in the coldest weather and never got it stuck. Mine was black with gold stripes, factory driving lights and a louvered back window. Too bad when I owned it there was no internets or auto forums so when it finally cacked I couldn't find anyone who knew how to work on them or where to get parts so I had to park it. And then my landlord 'accidentally put the bale forks on his tractor through the drivers' side door and body and seat and that was the end of that.
:(

And before anyone starts in at me; I still think it's a cool car. :P

Closish. It's a Skoda from Checkoslovakia. Not too common over here but used to be very popular rally car in Europe. Most people associate the Skoda marque with heavy tanks, locomotives and other military hardware though.

Okay, fine...the 1974 Ford Gran Torino was a psuedo-luxury car that could barely carry the weight of its own engine. FoMoCo was the provider of vehicles for the Starsky and Hutch TV series, and the newly introduced Mustang II did not have either the power or the police image necessary for the context...so they took a red Torino and painted a white stripe on it, and added some Crager slots. Or was it Keystone? Anyway, they barely found enough old Torinos to make the movie with...

Sort of the same thing with late 60's Dodge Chargers. They wrecked a lot of them for the TV show and for the movies...the big difference being that they had a real performance attitude and image and some of the ones they wrecked could have been worth some decent money.

Cool? I don't know... Kitsch? Definitely...

Goddammit I wish I could post an attatchment!

My first car didn't look quite like this but it was a '63 Belvedere with a slant 6 and pushbutton transmission. Another one I wish I still had...

Hot Poop...that car is a true dysentary green!

Sam...ah yes, the famously light-bodied Exner-Engle Plymouths. Virgil Exner, who pioneered the famous "Forward Look" Chryslers of the mid to late Fifties, went nuts in the early Sixties. His designs for the downsized '62s got him fired, and the only one ever produced was the '62. Two great examples of that car can be seen in the movie It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World, one a red convertable "driven" by Dick Shawn, and the other a black police coupe "driven" by Spencer Tracy. Anyway, Chrysler stole Elwood Engle, who designed the beautiful early '60s Ford Galaxies, and he "cleaned up" the Exner designs, the first example of which is seen in the '63 shown in the photo.

baddy...I believe that's a '65 Oldsmobile 442. They started out as an option package on the '64 Cutlass...4-barrel carburator, 4-speed transmission, and dual exhaust...4-4-2...they didn't start calling them that until '65.

Nice pics.
