Based on her answers, the next 15 months or so should be very exciting;

Petite Wazoo

Dance Me This

Flo & Eddie material

73-74 Band material

another Joe's Hemmorrhage early 2011 (which may be one of the above)

I kind of wish she'd answered a question about vinyl releases, but she did mention the possibility of a Mothermania LP. That's kinda cool.

Well obviously she is not going to release all the things she discussed in the next year. I took that as more of a "these are the things we are strongly discussing". It was really cool to read though, wish I'd been aware of that at all! At any rate, some cool things to ponder and wish on! Noted...88 was asked about alot with some positive responses!

With a title like Joe's Hemmorrhage, it'll probably be Flo & Eddie material...

Nice "Q/A session". There is enough material to keep us speculating for some time. Thanks for the answers Gail!

But ROXY on film does seem to be a thing we should not hope too much for.

She said that they had Frank's stereo mixes. Personally I'd prefer they just edit the film and synch to his mixes instead of bothering with surround sound for this release. But it seems like a priority for them which is too bad if it is causing just another hindrance to its release. Of course she is right, editing all that footage is a monolithic job, especially if it is to be done in the style Frank seemed to prefer with segments of ultra fast seizure inducing cuts!

Seems like they'll finally cover some new eras/types of material. I love the late 70s line-ups, but a bit of '88 or some orchestral stuff would be nice.

I guess she figures that if they're going to go to the trouble of releasing it they might as well go all out and do it right.

I bet she really regrets putting that trailer on the Baby Snakes DVD.

What really excites me is the unreleased synclavier music she talked about

To be honest I disagree. If Frank made a stereo mix of what he wanted on the movie (unless she is just referring to the Roxy and Elsewhere album) I would much prefer that to a new surround mix. Why add that cost and time if there is already an FZ completed project?

All that it takes for it to be completed is a squad of above-average 10th-semester media technology students heading for a Master's Degree with their little Macs and Media Composer plus a little salary that helps them over an otherwise financially rough time --

After all, it's a cheesey Rock'n Roll concert movie on 16mm, and no Godard --

Me too & it's new stuff (not rehash?), though I don't expect it to be better than the stuff he released when he was alive. (i.e. Jazz From Hell, Civilization Phaze III). Dance Me This on the other hand could be much more interesting, a FZ completed album of new tunes he saw fit for release. I've been anticipating this one for years, why such a long delay & low release priority who knows ... it's certainly more interesting than most of the chaff ZFT have been putting out.

Shame that The Rage & The Fury is so undecided (another FZ completed project), I read an article where composer/conductor Peter Eötvös really praises the quality of the performances.

And hopefully a conductor & orchestra out there will someday tackle & record his large orchestra scores with much better expertise & care than what FZ was able to achieve with the LSO/Nagano ... (perhaps for the Naxos label)

Agreed Tim, that is a complete wet dream of mine! I'd be happy if all they did was use YCDTOSA Vol.5 as the soundtrack and sync Frank's mixes to the video. I'd buy that in a second, and wouldn't be much work at all, compared to putting together something from scratch.

GZ sez

"My favorite would be to release FZ’s Yellow Shark 6 channel Surround mix."

Now that would be nice to hear...

Yes! That's something I've always dreamed would come out! Not that I have a system to play it, but maybe it'll be released the year I can afford a kick ass sound system!

Who's to say that the person that is not happy with it is Jean Luc Ponty?

Release the whole vault. Digital everything and put it on a hard drive. Wouldn't take more than 3TB. Sell it. Retire.

But I like the packaging and the liner notes. And it might be boring to trudge through EVERYTHING to find the greatest/most representative stuff.

EXTENSIVE liner notes. Comes with a DVD-Rom cataloging everything. The box it comes in has a mural of all official releases in the shape of an imperial. I become rich. All the world is at peace with one another. All drugs are legal.

Please, no more fancy packaging! Great cover design works a lot better. I'm still upset about my DAAU purchase of earlier this year: my favourite band but the album totally sucked: had to listen to it song by song, there were only 5 songs (all over 6 mins in length) and it took me 4 times listening to it. Two of the tracks qualify as OK.
I had to pay a fortune for it though. Why? Because they put it in a plywood box. So now I have a really bad album in a very expensive box that I can't put anywhere near the rest of my collection because of the box size. :P Sounds like Their Satanic Majesty's Request.

It was a struggle getting Wazoo out of the box. It really didn't need a digipak since the cover design is the best of the post Civilization era with ease.
Greasy Love Songs really doesn't need the silver, and personally I have an aversion to its look. What would have helped is this: I left the vinyl Ruben at the store since it was never under 20 euros, but why do you create its revival to be more expensive?
