That explains it, then

What a doosey of a first concert!

it was a life changing event!

Same deal for me except it was 12/76, Palladium NYC. I was probably the youngest member of the audience. I remember everyone looked so fucking old.

i know for sure i was the youngest girl there.

we were supposed to play two shows at the konserthuset and we were taking a break between the shows and some fans came up to me as I was walking outside and said that their younger brother hannes had been to the first show and he had to go home and they were gonna stay for the second show. and what they wanted me to do was to come with them after the second show to their house in tullinge and walk into hannes' bedroom. he would be sleeping and they wanted me to walk in and say 'hannes, hannes! wake up! it's me frank zappa'. I thought it was so absurd, but I said I would do it. so after the show, I took the drive out to tullinge and walked in, walked in to his little room, there he was, sleeping in his bed and I said exactly that. 'hannes, hannes! wake up! it's me frank zappa'. and the mother and the father woke up and we sat around till about 4 or 5 o' clock in the morning, we had coffee and cookies and talked about politics and then I went back to the hotel and did my travel the next day.

it's all in ' the real frank zappa book' also.

Well, if this was the early to mid 70's Hannes will be in his early 40's about now. So far the record is The Black Page Pt 2 currently aged 37 - god bless the youngster

I saw Frank for the first--and only--time in concert on February 17, 1988 in Hartford, CT at the age of 16 :)

FZ died nearly 17 years ago. He last played a proper concert 22 years ago. I think Diva holds the record for being the youngest person living now, being currently at the age of 30 to have seen him in concert. Apart from that the next youngest,BP2, who must be now about 39 years of age.

So youngest person currently alive to see FZ live is aged 30.

I saw, spoke to and shook hands with Frank Zappa when he was A-live at B. Dalton Bookstore on June 6, 1989. I was 17.41666667 years old.

Sadly despite your frankly amazing interuterine experience you are not the holder of this record! My little contest is to find the youngest person alive now to have seen FZ live. If you were carried to Genoa in June 6th 1988 like you were back in '57 then you would in my opinion hold the record! I have been listening to best band.. on cassette in the new car. I have to say Ike Willis's singing on Mr Green Genes is just beautiful.

what about the swedish kids fz talks about in 'the real frank zappa book'?
he never mentions their age(s), though.

anyway; where did they go? when did they come from?

That incident was probably 1973. So if the kid was 5 years old then they would be in their early 40's now. Besides they could not attend the concert and FZ according to his anything at anytime for no reason etc responded to a great idea by the older sibling - so they probably did not see FZ live. Diva is still the agreed youngest so far as she is in her early 30's

it happened in 1971, in stockholm. 'the real frank zappa book': pages 111-112.

according to frank zappa, two kids came up to him after the second show, and said that they had a younger brother who could only attend the first show, because he had school the next day.
would fz want to go with them to their house and wake him up and say hello?...read on (if you have the book...)

and, as I said, he didn't mention how old they were. who said anything about a 5-year old?

I don't really care if they are the youngest persons ever to have seen zappa live.
I just thought it could be an interesting addition to the thread...

jeez...

So nobody can find a person younger than Moon Unit.
I can't say I am surprised :P that would need too been 7 year 1988 and see FZ live or 3 years old in 1984.

I think the search centers on the '88 tour because that is the only way you can be the youngest fan now who saw FZ, if someone saw fZ in '88 and was 7 at the time they would now be 30 years old. And therefore would be the youngest person alive whom has seen FZ.

Diva is 11 - 12 years younger than Moon. Not only is she the youngest so far to have seen him live in concert, she even wrote material for him, and she also appeared on stage. I reckon there could have been some infant in arms who saw him in Spain, Italy those type of countries. I remember the Italians like to sit down, so when I saw FZ in Rome there were shouts to sit down when anybody stood up near the stage.

As far as I'm concerned, Diva doesn't count. She is his daughter after all. I think it would be far more interesting to find the youngest fan to have seen him live. Stick Diva in there and it just puts everyone off bothering about what otherwise could be an interesting thread.

Yes I agree, it would be better to find an independent candidate. We have to see who had staked a claim earlier in the thread.
