Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, etc.

You are correct Galoot. Francesco is the worst (and I apologize BBP, for endlessly repeating myself) , there are things I do not like about Thing-Fish, but it does have some humor and it is the soundtrack to a stage production, and that does mean it will have limited appeal.

Francesco isnt even really "his" album so that shouldn't count. Cruisin' is pointless for me aside from stuff up the cracks, and i'm not fan of most of the early stuff athough lumpy gravy is pretty groovy

After finally hearing the vinyl YAWYI, I stand by my original opinion: it's my least favourite, and even the vinyl gives me a headache.

After an intense listening session last Dec 21st, when I played it from start to finish over headphones whilst sitting on the floor in front of the stereo, concentrating on nothing but the music and getting in a Zappic trance, I'm convinced once more and even stronger that CP3 is a masterpiece.

You should give the same treatment with Lumpy Money then Civ 3, take the phone off the hook.

Oh, I thought you would have had that one, it's well worth the money. Maybe we can pass around a hat to get you a copy, I don't think civ 3 is complete without the lump.

Nope, too expensive. I asked it for birthdays and St Nicholas, but didn't get it since it's also too expensive for my loved ones.

Have you noticed how hoarse he gets in The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing? I guess he did a whole lot of singing (and talking) in a couple of sessions there.

I do like Man From Utopia (even if I always skip two or three tracks - but I rather find them boring than really bad), and also Thing-Fish
but I can't find any reason for listening to Ruben and the Jets (even the vinyl version), and also Fillmore East June 71

Hi,

The compilations that don't make any sense, except to someone that has no idea what all this is about, and thinks they do more than ...

It has to be Thing Fish IMHO. That voice, the head ache inducing arrangements, the vacuous story all make for a mistake.

I love almost all the albums, I just a bit reticent over the L.S.O./Perfect Stranger/Francesco types of albums.

Anything with Flo and Eddy, god they get on my nerves, and the music does not seem as good as anything before or after that period.

ThingFish is a piece of shit. Zappa must not have been feeling well. Even brilliant musicians are capable of producing garbage. There is nothing good about this record.

well, it's hard to select
Francesco Zappa is not FZ music. Remixed Ruben and the Jets is pretty bad, but I like listening to original version sometimes. IMHO, it's harder to digest his Cucamonga stuff.
If "worst FZ album" equals "FZ album I don't listen to", it could be "Guitar" (not bad, but why bother listening to this, if you have plenty of better and less monotonous live albums from that period) or CD version of "sleep dirt" (i definitely prefer the Lather versions), and "Fillmore East" (quite uninteresting flo&eddie stuff, Just Another Band From LA is much better)
