...are we suppose to have 17? I don't even know how to count syllables in English. Both are prime numbers, who cares :?

wait a minute,

I never said that!

Trust me...

Been there and done that,
Haikus aren't about syllables as such,
The rules aren't that strict, people

"The Republicans
have General Motors and
Gen'ral Electric

and General Foods
and what I want to say is
that every Gen-

'ral I know is on
this list except General
Welfare. The Gen'ral

Welfare is in with
the corporals and privates.
I have studied the

Republican Part-
y for years at close hand in
the capital of the U-

nited States and I
have discovered where the Re-
publicans stand on

most of the major
issues. Since they won't tell you
I'm gonna tell you.

They stand four square for
the American Home but
not for Housing. They

favor minimum
wage, the smaller the better.
They endorse edu-

cational opportuni-
ty for all, but they won't spend
money for teachers

or schools. They think mod-
ren medical care and our
hospitals are fine

for people who can
afford them. They favor the
admission of im-

migrants, but only
within shameful, racist and
religious limits.

They think the Amer-
ican standard of living
is a fine thing, so

long as it doesn't
spread to all of the people.
They admire the gov-

ernment of the United
States so much, they want
To buy it."

To me the enjoyable part of haiku is to express my complete thought within the limitation of the form (5/7/5).

Enjoyment comes near.
The thought-form is compressed now
In simplicity.

Today, hard cooked eggs.

Grey ring around yolk.

And yet this does it
