For those of you on Facebook!!!

Please visit this link https://www.facebook.com/#!/frankzappaday and LIKE this page. We are trying to promote Frank Zappa Day in Baltimore on September 17th. Hey, maybe you don't even know about it...and now you do?

September 17th in Higlandtown...where the Frank Zappa Bust from Vilnius, Lithuania was dedicated last September. They are throwing a FREE party with tons of bands and cool stuff to check out....including an exhibition by Mr. Ahmet Zappa.

Ahmet's Playhouse
Creating and Communing with Ahmet Zappa

Creative Alliance hosts an afternoon with musician, actor, artist and writer Ahmet Enuuka Rodan Zappa. Ahmet's warm, honest vision and efforts to support children in their growth, are manifested thru a myriad of projects including a film in development and his children's books, including Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless. Ahmet talks about his life’s challenges and passions, and shares his amazing drawings. A question and answer discussion follows with the audience. Building on the fun we had last year, Ahmet will create some of his fabulous drawings on the spot on your t-shirt! Original Ahmet drawings and books will be available for purchase.

Come show your support!!

Dovey, I am definitely going...and to make it even more special, I get to spend the day with Cal Schenkel again. I can't think of a better way to enjoy a Zappa festival.....that isn't featuring any Zappa music. I think they missed the boat there but that is another story altogether.

Here we are last year after a hot day in the sun and a fun crab feast in Fells Point. If anyone would care to join the fun this year and meet Cal in person, PM me and I will let you know what we got going on. The more the merrier!

Be sure to check out http://www.ralf.com if you are interested in owning a piece of artwerk from this Zappa legend

I guess they are abiding by the law of "accept no substitute"? ZPZ had a better offer?

I bought this tiny piece of art from Bruce Bickford at the ZN festival in 2009. What was even more special was that I got to meet the man who created it and the claymation in one of my favorite movies of all time, Baby Snakes.

Daisy

If anyone who has Windoze wouldn't mind downloading this file and getting the free evaluation crossword utility at http://www.crosswordweaver.com/, you can convert the crossword file that I snaffled before it disappeared. After converting it you could do a screen shot or something which I wouldn't mind hosting for others if you can send it to me.

The file is actually a .cww file which the crossword utility uses, but I have put a .txt extension on it so it doesn't get messed up in internet file transfers. When you use it on your computer, just delete the .txt from the end.

The crossword file is here: http://geoffpointer.com/PatchUp/zappa_crossword.cww.txt

Don't read the file just in case the solutions are in there - no spoilers!!
