No one in this topic has mentioned Mike Oldfield. Is he perhaps too twee? Personally, he's not my favourite, he's a bit hit and miss, but I like some of his work.

Someone else worth mentioning is Steven Mackey. He's a rock guitarist turned classical composer and I first came across his work listening to a classical radio station. Steven Mackey - Tuck and Roll with the New World Symphony conducted by Tilson Thomas is a great CD.

HARRY PARTCH:GOOD TRANCE STUFF...but have not listened to Partch in awhile...A good rock album is CONTRABAND by VELVET REVOLVER..I don't give much heed to the lyrics thereof-even tho' they are printed up...However,the sounds thereof are true resurrected rock, the vocal harmonizing suberb-proof that rock is still kickin'...note:when loading said CD in computer-rom,press shift- key to enable ripping/playing.This removes the auto-run -& the weird code used for anti-piracy.

Love old GNR, but Scott Weiland is just crap. Rips off all his dance moves, and doesnt have that good a voice at all...Didnt like STP either....Just my opinion.....
Back to basics take no prisoners approach. Although they got too big for their britches and excess ripped the band apart, they cut some great music. Appetite For Destruction is just what the music scene needed, a kick in the ass. 8)

Dreams are not taxed in NZ, just snatched away prior to fruition.

And a veiled (or not so much) reference to Mr. Green by Frank on Them Or Us.

I went to a fleetwood mac concert years ago, the rumours tour.....they phoned it in....people were walking out...I hung on hoping for a sliver of a magic moment, but alas the dvd i watched when I got home was a far better and cheaper experience.
