The article mentions the goldtop Les Paul that Dweezil is trying to reclaim for the family -- was stolen from Frank years ago, is now on some auction site for ridiculous price.

The Gibson page about Zappa has some interesting links and vids. Interestingly the writer or the Zappa forum to which he alludes mentions that he messed up a rare guitar, well at the time it was not rare and worth £100 or $200. I would love to know what kind of money folks were paying for old Les Pauls in 1967-1973. The other point which needs correcting is that the guitar has never been sold let alone fror a 6 figure sum. That is what the seller is wanting for the last 5 years. It is 4th Dec once again. Is that 18 years now? How time marches on waiting for no one.

Noel Redding sadly missed out. It was the M.Mitchell schoolboy thesp and wideboy drummer who stole the White Strat, he was seen for a few years turning up in Denmark St with Strats stencilled JHE or similar, which were clearly faked up by him.
