Yes, random, but I decided to start a post for people to post comments that people often make that annoy the hell out of them. I DO realize it comes close to a whine, but I am willing to take that chance.

Mine is "I'm just sayin."

Everytime someone says or writes this phrase, it makes me want to defy whatever arguement they were proposing, even if I would normally agree with it. No idea why such simple words would put a man so on edge, but there it is.

Post 'em if you got 'em.

Top 3:

The over-use of the word "REALLY?" (takes place of "are you kidding") When did this start? It's really obnoxious.

Or people who speak every sentence in question form, which is called "upspeak". Really annoying.

"You know?" or "You know what I mean?". You'll notice this if you're a sports fan and listen to player interviews. It's like every other sentence out of their mouths. You could make a drinking game out of it and get blasted quick.

I think we had a thread like this. I'm just sayin'. No, that was pet peeves. Whatever. I mess up sometimes, you know?

Ah, but this thread is strictly 'aurally' based, whereas the Pet Peeve thread has a wider purview. I declare this thread valid.

One of my 'I hope I never have to hear that crap again' phrases is:
Quote:
Have a good one!
It seemed that suddenly I was being serenaded out of every store I went into with that phrase. Have a good what, I ask? Bowel movement? Don't mind if I do.

I also hate it when people repeat the same anecdote over and over, like I probably just did.

The whole "yeah / no" thing is big at the moment. People actually say, for example "Yeah no, I went to the supermarket yesterday". Do you want a punch in the head? "Yeah no thanks"

The other big and general mutherfucker is the whole upspeak thing which Fred mentioned.
It is pathetic and really annoying. Some people do it as a really bad habit but others seem to be so unsure of everything that they are saying that they actually do it as a kind reassurance seeking thing. To the listener it is draining and should be outlawed.

I hate it when people use terms like "lady" or "girl" as derogative term towards males. Come on Arkay! Drain your imagination and browse the Your Favourite Insult topic.

I'm the same with "effin." People sound like effin' 6 year old when they say it. Eff that.

OK, I've been busy for a bit and didn't have time to clean up those posts til now. So, with respect to BBP, not meaning to deprecate females everywhere by connecting them with BS, I have modified the 2 above posts with the new nomenclature "little buckaroo". No offense meant to little buckaroos world-wide.

'At the end of the day' - do you mean 'before it's time to go home'?

'Moving forward' - I think that means 'I don't want to talk about that fuckup of mine anymore'.

'Absolutely!' - this is just something that both my boss & his son yelp with dreary repetition whenever they're promising something that they likely won't deliver.

'Hit the ground running' - this just sounds like a good way to break an ankle.

'Think outside of the box' - maybe it's just me but I always imagine the person saying this taped into a refrigerator box, trapped in contradictory state of existing and not existing, preferably with rats. Gives me comfort.

'110%' - just say 'work harder'. Doesn't mean I will but it does mean I don't have to explain math.
