I think the Who sang at above genius level. "Is it me for a moment?", or "Doctor Jimmy, and Mister Jim".

"Baba O'Rilley", I can feel the excitement of being outside in the great outdoors, with love all around.

"Athena" a goddess, who wouldn't want to be her?

Everything in the "Who's Next" album is better than many a drug experience.

indeed.

and plus it's got that killer electric guitar lick.

I love Quicksilver Messenger Service also. Like Tommy, so many of the songs that really touched me were "Listening to you I see the colors...".

Jefferson Airplane's "Good Shepherd", had tremendous significance for me, also. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God". The Word of God is whatever touches your heart, and imparts love.

Why not just call them by their far more widely recognized name,"The Recording Industry" ?

Maybe a childhood favorite: "Hush" -- Deep Purple.

(Now moving along.)

The entire "Unleashed In The East" album -- Judas Priest (Of special note, their cover of Joan Baez' "Diamonds And Rust" & their own, "Victim Of Changes.")

Motörhead -- "Razor's Edge" & "I Don't Believe A Word". (Lemmy & Co. are so grossly and inexcusably overlooked!)

Pearl Jam -- "Black" & "Rearviewmirror".

All fucking solid stuff!

I just remembered "Volunteers of America", by Jefferson Airplane.

This gave me an out of body high, a sense of freedom, and ecstasy. But Smokey Robinson said "A taste of honey is worse than none at all".

Listening to Van Halen do "Jump", is like a really good drugged, and/or religious experience, I am fathoming a lot of emotion, exuberance, and joy. The word "Ressurection", comes to mind.

Frank Zappa's music was a step above the pop, and the popular, in a totally different category, from harmony. There is so much dissonance that I want to listen to. But I remember his voice was so smooth, deep, and clear as he called "Suzy, Suzy Cream Cheese, this is your conscience,..." If I had known then, what I know now, I would have probably chosen to be a groupie.
