The estates of Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix may stage future holographic live performances, Billboard reports.

"We're trying to get to a point where 3-D characters will walk around," Jeff Jampol, who manages both artists' estates, told Billboard. "Hopefully, 'Jim Morrison' will be able to walk right up to you, look you in the eye, sing right at you and then turn around and walk away."

I'd venture a pretty good guess that FZ would find this idea amusing and be against it for himself....although if GZ/ZFT developed a hologram for Frank I wouldn't hesitate to buy one for myself.

I think it's a pretty cool idea and just a technological advancement on what's already out there (3D movies, video games, etc.). I have no idea idea how this stuff is done but I imagine you would take the visual and audio material already available from an artist feed it into a computer and program the artists tendencies and mannerisms of said artist, synch it to the music, and you project it onto a stage so it looks like a real guy (or maybe even a better than real guy) and his band are out there doing it. It would be a pretty cool experience to see legendary artists in this format. Imagine seeing Frank, Hendrix or Miles "live" onstage. Didn't Frank have a similar idea for home theater that he discussed in The Real Frank Zappa Book?

I would pay $1,000.00 to see the Hendix hologram play the full Band of Gypsies New Years Eve concert (with high quality audio) and live band supporting! Same for the hologram Zappa performing the whole Roxy album with live band.

It would be so cool. "Hey, Calvin2hikers, how are you on this lovely June 13, 2012 day? Is there anything you would like to hear? Black Napkins? AGAIN? Why I'd love that!"

Should also include holographic scalper in the parking lot as well as holographic rowdy fans being holographically escorted out by the holographic security guard.

Actually that was a Pepper's Ghost, not a hologram. I would love a little hologram of FZ on the wall, but to make one you'd need a realistic sculpt of his face first.

That's a myth about her choking on a sandwich. She died from something else. Not chocking on a ham, chicken or turkey sandwich.
This just came up last month,as I said the samething and was corrected*.I guess it's a Frank eats shit onstage kinda thing.Urban myths.

*(I think it was calvin2hikers,I could be wrong though)
