Nik Turner -- Some of the Saxophone things that Nik Turner did were excellent with Hawkwind ... but he is better known for having helped name the band for his flatulence! His first solo, Xitinit (can't even spell it) has him playing saxophone and flutes inside the pyramid, and produced by Steve Hillage, and it is a fabulous album.
Amon Duul 2 -- has some saxophone things in the later days, and it becomes a lot more visible from Vive La Trance on, when they became more song oriented for (likely) commercial reasons.
Guru Guru -- Tango Fango. The first album that used saxophone, and not the last. Some very nice things.
Kraan -- Guru Guru's sister band is rock/quasijazz and is saxophone bound. Get their live albums and enjoy some nice stuff.
Not quite rock, but hard to call it jazz sometimes:
Jan Garbarek/Egberto Gismonti/Charlie Haden -- Magico or Folk Songs
And the oddest one, but not exactly unsatisfying, Keith Jarrett wrote a symphony for saxophone for Jan Garbarek ... it might not be on everyone's listening list, but it is very nice all around, despite a few moments that you go ... hmmm ... it still is excellent!
