Just found this on Youtube. It's a live version of Sleep Dirt from Vancouever 1975, with extended band solos. Never knew FZ played this one in an actual show (just the Philadelphia sound check version). Pretty cool.

Mr. GG

When I went to The Wall at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on June 19, 2012, Waters performed a "new" song ("What Shall We Do Now"?) which I would have thought would be called "With Our Backs To The Wall" and slipped in " When The Tigers Broke Free" where it is set in the original album lyric sheet. Great, expensive show, even from the nosebleeds.

After listening to Amused To Death, Barrett, Interstellar Overdrive, and Relics over the last few days, I've switched gears to Johnny Cash Sun Years and now...

Great album! Ever hear the story how John Peel played the whole album backwards on the BBC and nobody (apart from Eno) noticed?

If you get the 2CD Limited Edition, you not only get the album played properly, but also played in reverse, plus "The Heavenly Music Corporation" at half speed.

The nosebleeds? Sorry I don't follow you. The bleeding hearts? Cocaine decisions? Or is there some hidden message in an yet unknown English expression new to me? Or None of the Above?

That was a In Ear Monitor, by the way, which means you get many click tracks and countings along the mono mix that goes on Roger's monitor...

Frank Zappa
U.M.R.K., Los Angeles, CA
Febuary 1980
Source: 2nd generation field recording
Equipment: unknown
Lineage: Maxell II-S Cassettes>Gina20>Sound Forge (record/edits)>CDWave>
FLAC Level 8

Set list:
1) Bamboozled By Love
2) Pick Me I'm Clean
3) Bamboozled By Love (ending section)
4) Pick Me I'm Clean
5) Teenage Wind
6) Harder Than Your Husband
7) Bamboozled By Love
8) Harder Than Your Husband
9) Bamboozled By Love

Notes: Some dispute as to the date.

from FZShows:
Feb/Mar? 1980, UMRK
27 min, A/A-
The band rehearsing with a drum machine. Circulating under uncountable
different dates, often mixed with material from Crush All Boxes.
Bamboozled By Love/Pick Me I'm Clean/Teenage Wind/Harder Than Your
Husband

From Pbuzby:
There are two theories about this tape - one is that it is a winter '80
rehearsal from the period between Vinnie's departure and Logeman's
arrival, and the other (mine) that it is from a tracking session for
YAWYI. I discussed this once on e-mail with a guy who was in
Project/Object at the time. He called up Ike, who confirmed the first
theory. However, I still lean towards the second theory, especially
because the Teenage/Harder at the end of this tape is the performance
used as the basic track on YAWYI! Also, the P/O guy said that the
Zappa band alumni could be wrong sometimes. As well, Arthur Barrow
mentions on his site that they used a drum machine click track for
some songs when recording YAWYI.

From Drew: Some background on this recording:
When these first fell in collector's hands, they were with Crush All
Boxes takes, and a few live soundboard recordings from the 1980 fall
tour. The source did this for whatever reason? A collection of 1980
rehearsals and outtakes. This is the only rehearsal session on
the tape.
