If you want a chat room party next Sunday, keep in mind we're in different time zones, maybe there's a time, albeit not perfect for everybody, but one that comes close, that we could settle on to get as many in there as possible at once. I'll think about it. Maybe people could post their time zone and preferred times here or something. I'm sure I can figure out a time that will get Western Europe, America (North and South) and Australasia together at least, somehow.

They're coming to get you,
They're protected by billions so don't let it upset you......

Sound familiar.

i got here 2003 or something and was flabbergasted I was so stoopid as to not know of this place, since I followed the Zappas attempt at an online presence since the '90s.

Sabrina, she was here from near the beginning, right? Well before me and The Forum Killed Arky??

Oh well, keep posting on details on 8/19

Next Sunday (8/19) is 10 years of Zappa Forum!!!

Image

How about a day long forum chat marathon binge, starting with the Japanese members! followed by people on New Zeland, Australia, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan... Then the waking members in Europe will join in, followed by the people in the Americas. Last will be people in Hawaii...

Bring the weenies, I will bring the soft-drinks...

Mr.GG pick a one to two hour time period that is most convenient to the most time zones when we can all get on at once! (im not home from 6:00am to 11:30 am on Sundays).... :smoke:

It's a tough one. In terms of time zones, just focussing on Western Europe (includes a fair vertical slice of Africa), Australasia and the Americas we already have a very wide time span of 18 hours. Summer time in the northern hemisphere narrows the gap towards Australia in the south.

So, roughly as follows

(1) Just as it comes to 8am on Sunday in the Americas' west it's around midday in the east, 4-6pm in Western Europe and already past midnight in Australasia.
(2) 3-7pm in the Americas on Sunday, 11pm-1am in Western Europe, 6-8am the following day in Australasia

There are other possibilities but I have to get back to work, I'm up to my neck in marking.
