Sure, show me where to purchase any of the new CDs post the first 12 and I'll pick 'em up!

Really? They'll put a physical copy of the new re-masters POST the first 12? As in AFTER the first 12? I don't think so....

THAT is an awesome line! Too bad he had to pull it out of you the hard way though. Egads! I get exactly what you're saying mistrijah. The physical format is "dead" for me as well. I do have exceptions though and these re-masters have been added to that list. I personally just want to hear the new ones asap and if I can hear them on Spotify before the physical copies are released, why not?

sounds to me like you want the music but don't want to PAY FOR IT!! which totally proves my previous post.

i don't know why i am explaining this to you but here we go again, i have PAID for most of the albums as vinyl, all the albums after 83 as they came out, the pre 83 ones as second hand or reissues, then i went and paid for them when they first came out as CD's in the 80's, and then I PAID again for the Ryco Disc CD's, very strange action for someone who wants music for free don't you think?

and now my house is full of shitty round plastic things that i really don't care for, i don't want anymore, i just want the music, so guess what i do? if a new album or music comes out I PAY FOR IT via itunes (the penguin EP for example), or if its something that i have already brought a million times before I PAY for it via Spotify, if something special comes out as a vinyl LP i pay for it, i like the cover art and think they are collectable and enjoy them, but shitty pieces of CD's i don't pay for, because they are what they are, round pieces of plastic shit, so stop attacking you asshole and fuck off, thats my choice it's not free the musician gets paid, i get the music, win fucking win.....

Yup, making statements like this shows that you're clearly understanding of 2012's audio trends:

I'll go back to my archaic sound system and primitve cds now.

Do you have a URL that would confirm this?

Yeah Shore

http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/v ... .html#2012
2012 UMe CD
Zappa Records/UMe re-released "We're Only In It For the Money" in 2012. this is the same disc as the 1995 Rykodisc CD, so if you have that, it is unnecessary (in other words: nothing new here)

http://www.gandsmusic.com/ZappaCD1.htm
"We’re Only In It For The Money
2011 transfer of a digital master. Track times identical to the Ryko edition."

I can't work out though why the times on iink must be ryko version?aint first Zappa records CD and they ain't the times on the new CD.
It must be
http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/v ... .html#mofi
"As it turns out, the Mobile Fidelity CD is derived from Ryko's 1995 master. No, it isn't exactly the same--it's been re-EQed"

Well damn. I bought Finer Moments on MP3 from Amazon last night to hold me over until the vinyl release. I guess that'll put me ahead if the vinyl doesn't come with a digital version.

Most of the post 1993 catalogue is now on spotify, only a handful missing and hopefully they will turn up over time as well, seems as though the new universal deal has started kicking in.

In the U.S. most of the ZFT releases are now on I-Tunes, but not on Spotify (at least, not yet).

i don't attack you for wanting that crap so you leave me to consume the music the way i choose to,
don't forget Zappa had the idea for these services way back in the early 80's :-)

Your own words -- "if Zappa was alive he would have embraced itunes and spotify years ago." You dont know. I can probably assume this though - he would not stand for the total shit pay outs Spotify gives the musicians for the playbacks. They're reaming the artists - the ones who make Spotify possible. Think Frank would embrace that bullshit?

I agree totally .He would never have put up with that BS. However, He would probably have become the owner of a Itunes or Spotify like system. And all the music would be in ultra Hi Res.

I don't agree, spotify doesn't rip off the artists, it's the records companies who get massive amounts of money from the streaming services in advance, bit this revenue is not passed onto the musician, it's the same old game in new wrapping, it's easy to blame spotify, but it's the record companies. Let's gets our facts correct, spotify pays out, the record companies do not share (as usual)

He wouldn't have owned jack shit :-)
No one knew how big this was all going to be before it happened, and the only reason it happened was because a cash rich company invented something called an ipod, Zappa would not have been able to compete with that, as for Zappa's version being in ultra Hi res I would ask have you read Zappa's original outline to this, his proposal was for the music to be downloaded via phone lines and then recorded to tape. Who knows what Zappa would have made of all this, one thing that i am sure of is that it would have made his distribution problems disappear, i personally think he would have by passed itunes spotify the whole works and just sold all his music from his own site, and because he would have been alive and doing new music etc he would have been a pioneer in the field, it really was the wrong time to die :-(

Spotify agrees to the deals they make with the labels - SO - they are also part of the the RIP OFF. Spotify can easily refuse to make a deal that doesnt compensate the artists properly... BUT DO THEY? NO. So fuck that bullshit you just tried to rationalize. Business assholes will continue to keep the money on both sides. Just not the artist one.
