Young Adult--Cherlize Theron as a messed-up (to say the least) woman who writes a series of books about teen-agers--similar to "Sweet Valley High"---who goes back to her hometown trying to win back her old boyfriend. It's dark from the start, and you know it won't work out, but it's one of those "train wreck" films--you gotta watch. Patton Oswalt is great, trying in vain to talk her out of her obsession. I watched it again next day w/commentary, and Jason Reitman (director) said it was a love story, but more between Ms. Theron and Mr. Oswalt, just not like you'd think.

The Descendants---George Clooney in Hawaii....what could be better? He's quite good, and much funnier than I thought, considering the subject matter.

Thanks Plook....have to rent season to of MF soon.

The Artist

War Horse

If ever there were two movies made for parental unit consumption, these are it! Both Mom and Dad enjoyed them quite a bit.

I liked the Artist a lot saw it on a flight which is somewhat Ironic (silent film on a jet) when I came home watched it with Mrs. Plook and she liked it also. It had the perfect movie formula, good story with a beginning, middle, and end. I also found War Horse to be good also... :smoke:

Kill Bill, Vol. 1....okay, to be truthful, I watched the first few minutes, then was called to help Mom out with something. I'll watch it tomorrow. The thing is, I remember a forum member used to have part of the scene where she tears up the restaurant in her yellow Bruce Lee track suit as his sig pic. Always thought that was very creative of him....although the name escapes me now.

Kill Bill, Vol.s 1 & 2 (finally)....Love Vol. 1 a lot better.
Ocean's 11 (recent remake)...I'd like to see the original in all it's un-PC glory...very Rat Pack fun. Good ol' Angie Dickinson is in both, actually.
