I have to admit I liked crazy horses when I first saw it played on television. They had stage smoke and guitars and.....I was about eleven I think. Now it's real funny to look back at their attempt at heavy rock.
anyhow...
The Tubes (1975)
The Tubes - Young and Rich (1976)
I'm a big Tubes fan. I think they were very underrated overall. Add to the list:
Now - Probably their quirkiest record. Includes a great version of Captain Beefheart's "My Head Is My Only House Unless It Rains" and the album also features CB making rare appearances as a studio musician on harmonica and saxophone on a couple other songs.
What Do You Want From Live - A GREAT live album. One of my favorite "double live" albums of all-time.
Remote Control - Produced by Todd Rundgren. A great concept album about television.
The Completion Backwards Principle and Outside/Inside - Their two most commercial albums were produced by David Foster and they both are really good.
Love Bomb - Todd Rundgren is back much to Fee Waybill's chagrin. Fee wanted Foster back but the rest of the band didn't because of his controlling ways and the fact that he had no qualms using studio musicians in place of the regular guys. Result - a commercial bomb but a very good record. Side two is a very interesting and listenable experiment.
