I do run my own business, and have been doing it for a long time. Romney wants to tax me higher than people who make as much money he does, then crush me out of competition, and sell my employee's jobs to China. I work for my own fucking money thank you. I've never collected a dime from the government, nor have ever been on a government payroll. Don't you make yopur living from taxpayer money in the prison business BRAVO? Does that make you a lazy 47 percenter? Thought so...

No he doesn't the us has the highest corp tax rate in the world, as you have displayed before you cant count, he paid over 35% on the wages he earned, then invested, in this country right now I believe the investment rate to be 15% so like the rest of us the combined rate is around 50%, looks like his past few years have only been investment income. Do you care to share what your company is? is it an llc? how many employees do you have? regardless your tax rates are going UP under obama , Obama does not deny this. I did not work for a private prison, very few in the USA, it was a county lock up just like in your county, funny you should bring up government workers as Obama has increased them over 35% in DC alone. So grow some balls invest your profits you only pay 15% on those investments and shut the fuck up.

According to Romneys just released and engineered to show he paid a higher amount of taxes of 13% is less than half of what I pay.

Does this mean you're a Romney supporter BRAVO? You plan on voting for the guy? You do realize that, besides Social Security, Romney will privatize the prison industry, and Chinese laborors will take your job and bennies if he gets elected, right?

Obama sent 0 jobs to china as every single bill that never made it to his desk to sign, that would have saved them waere either filibustered in the Senate because of only 59 votes (the 60th vote was Al Frankin, who's Senate seat was held up in state court for over a year by your neighboring Minnesota Republicans) and congress' refusal to pass one single jobs bill.

The only thing holding America's economy back from a faster recover are Republicans, in a failed effort to deny him successes all for greedy political manuevering. Use your brain.

Gotta give this one to SB, although neither side is innocent, the Reps have been using stall tactics for the Presidents entire term...no good bill comes up for a vote because they use the fillibuster... :smoke:

They never had over 58 seats 1 was a Lib (Liebermen) sitting and on every vote the Reps threatened to use filibuster, thats why they had to slide the Healthcare through on a technicality or the Reps would have killed it also... :smoke:

BRAVO really needs to learn about civics in America...

The Real Story of the 110th Congress: The Right-Wing Block-And-Blame Game - http://www.ourfuture.org/obstruction

BTW, a supermajority is 60 seats in the Senate, not 58. wtf omg rofl lol

In two year of a congressional Republican supermajority...

The numbers: Republicans have introduced 44 bills on abortion, 99 on religion, 71 on family relationships, 36 on marriage, 67 on firearms/gun control, 522 on taxation, 445 on ‘government investigations,’ and zero on job creation.

Use your brain BRAVO.

Well, if thats how you judge it, then I like it GREAT! 4 years ago I was laid off, now after a few twists and turns I have the best job I've ever had. My wife was laid off from a Navy Contractor a year ago and she just got a job that could turn into a career! Maybe you'd prefer a different example?

I'm making more money now than I ever have my whole life. I frequently have to turn down work. I'm infinitley better off now than I was in 2008 financially speaking. In turn, I was at my lifetimes economic worst in 2006 as, like Arkay, I was laid-off and my job was sent to China. Go figure.

This doesn't take rocket science. The worst thing for the American economy are Republicans. Always have been and always will be. History has repeated itself often enough.

This solution is, and always will be to vote out the Republican party.

I'm better off too. Lots of clients. I got a raise during the last 4 years. I see jobs coming slowly back, not plummeting as they were towards the end of Bush's reign. The housing market tanked in my town 4-5 years ago. Now it's coming back and prices are holding. My wife started her own business in 2008, and it's wildly successful. We're finally able to save for retirement, and we have enough saved - in the past 3 years - for 2 years of my kid's college costs.

So, it's not the slam dunk some people might think it is.

The problem is that companies in an effort not to go under during the crash, took away 401k’s, they took away insurance, and asked employees to do two or three jobs and laid off Jack and Steve.

As things got better and profits improved they brought back insurance and 401k's. But when people doing 2 or 3 jobs started to ask, are you going to hire a new Steve and Jack, they said, “No your doing fine”.

The chronically unemployed may never get another job like they had, this is the recovery, any additional money coming in for the most part is going to the owners and share holders, no bonus's for hard work...no supplementing the work force to give those who have been breaking their ass for the last 4 years some relief.

Some companies consider anyone who has been off for two years or more terminally unemployed and un-hirable. These people will never again work for a large company unless it is McDonalds or retail sales, a mom & Pop operation or a Small Business. The competition for these types of jobs is intense since so many under trained and under educated can only get those jobs.

Yes things are getting better and in Telecom we can see the rises and valleys usually 6 months in advance and it was obvious something was wrong in 2007, just as now we could see it getting better in 2011.

The bad news companies are not hiring Jack and Steve back and if you have been off for 2 years or more you may never work for a large operation again. I heard this morning that there are hundreds of thousands of jobs in the United States that are going unfilled because there is no one qualified to do them available.

Either the Jack and Steve’s of the world have given up or they are not an option due to the amount of time they have been unemployed, either way a lot of this is wounds on the part of Big Business and the Wealthy.

I think it's great that some of you are now doing better financially speaking than you were a few years ago. But are some of you actually using that as leverage and/or implying or stating that the economy is doing better than it really is because you currently are? If so, that is truly disgusting and EXTREMELY ignorant. Because nearly 1 in 7 North Americans are STILL either unemployed or underemployed. And many economists have recently stated that once the Treasury Securities Bubble bursts (which is estimated to happen between 2013 and 2014), the economy will become FAR WORSE than compared to what happened in 2008 when the Housing Bubble burst…which of course is something we’re STILL enduring today.

I think the problem with some of the bleeding heart socialists, is that they don’t know JACK SHIT ALL about finance and the current economic realities in the US (and worldwide). And on the other hand, I think the problem with most conservatives, is that they know all too well about the severity of the current economic realities in the US (and worldwide) but don‘t know JACK SHIT ALL or care about socialism. And to make matters worse, both sides don’t understand the other’s point of view. And THAT is one of the main reasons why things are STILL fucked and there is no political solution to this mess, despite the fact there could be if they just worked together harmoniously.

But since most people are selfish pricks, the above doesn’t surprise me at all…

“People are people…and they’re basically bad.” ~ Frank Zappa, 1984.

Hey DB, it seem like I'm being lumped into a group here, hmmm... I'm pretty sure I know Jack Shit about the economy, but not Jack Shit All. Anyway, it seems there are a few truthinesses about the economy:

1. No one knows a 100% guaranteed way to "fix" the economy or even a way that can be relied upon to successfully make this economy endure, much less prosper.
2. The people who have the power to "fix" the economy are all people who have the most to gain by keeping those who are currently on top, on top.
3. I can decide for myself if I think the economy is better or worse for me. If the economy has been getting better over the last 4 years for the US as a whole, well, thats what I hear from many sources. Who knows, maybe a ton of people are wrong.
4. If you want to live like a Republican, vote Democrat! :)
