I picked up an LP with this title in about 1986 and have never seen another copy, and have never seen it included on any discography - just wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of it. Here's the playlist:
We Are The Mothers
This is What we Sound Like
Variations on a theme from "Run Home Slow"
The Jelly
Igor's Boogie
Lost in a Whirlpool
Do it in "C"
The Story of Kenny and Ronny
Booger Freaks of America
Any Way The wind Blows
Fountain of Love
Opus 5
Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance

4. The Jelly (2:22) [last part of the CD version of "Didja Get Any Onya?" from Weasels Ripped My Flesh - plus a little extra]

So this is a bootleg?
I picked it up at a regular record store, and could swear it was on an FZ label (Barking Pumpkin or something like that)

Cool - thanks for the info.

Yes, it is a bootleg, BUT it's actually a real unreleased Zappa album. So good find there.

I've never seen it, but if it was made to look like a legitimate Barking Pumpkin release (or whatever it was), that's not surprising - I mean, there's Beach Boys bootlegs out there on "Brother Records", and I have a few Beatles bootlegs on "Apple Records." Fake-real-label boots are cool to me, for some reason. :-P

Did FZ actually use "We are The Mothers, and this is what we sound like" as an introduction to concerts? Cause that's fantastic if he did. 8)

This is my first zappa album just picked it up from a local record store. It was pressed on bizarre records. And that is all I know about it. Good its as good as I've heard.

Unfortunately this one is still essential - because of the longer versions of:
the Ronnie/Kenny dialogue
the Mount St Marys College excerpt
Kung Fu #1

Parts of this bootleg (tracks 2-5) were also released on an early CD boot pressing of "Tis the Season to be Jelly", as bonus tracks. The BTB release of this recording has since made it obsolete, though those "bonus tracks" were not on it.

Not to my knowledge -- it was actually the original title for a longer edit of http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/lyrics/M ... .html#KPFK :smurf:

Plus the Lowell George solo and studio madness at the end can only be found there.

Thought I'd better revive this, just to mention that there are two versions of the post-Igor's Boogie sound collage - some copies cut off about 25 seconds too early. (Anyone who has a vinyl of the original bootleg has only to compare it with the version used for the "Mother Universe" package).
