So yes, I'll be catching Peter Gabriel tonight at the United Center - woohoo!

But, yes, we (Fischer's Flicker) will be at Martyrs' this Saturday. You can consult Arkay on how the last show was.
We did an interview this week on Fearless Radio - you can check it out here: http://fearlessradio.com/component/k2/item/3058-fischers-flicker
... and here's a promotional clip from the last show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jX0I5s-HXwc

Wish I could tell you the couple of tunes we'll be playing that you'll recognize but... well.... :smoke:

Anyhow, hope to see you there as it's my understanding Plook, Arkay, thepoodlebites and a few others from the board will be there - don't be shy!

Are you Chicago guys going to the Steve Vai show at the House of Blues tomorrow (Friday 9/28)? If you are, I'll be there too, all the way from Michigan. It's my "day after my birthday" gift to myself.

I went to NEARfest in Bethlehem PA in June and saw / met 10 progressive rock bands, including Zappa alumni Eddie Jobson and Mike Keneally. You can read my review here: http://zombyprog.proboards.com/index.cg ... y&thread=2

I also saw Rush on September 11th.

 Jerry Joseph and The Jackmormons. Saw them in Feb. Going to see them again in October. Always a Great Show!
Check them out if you've never heard them! And the ticket price is always worth it. $12.00 to $18.00 usually.

Great show! Here's a LO-FI clip, gives some idea. I was standing on the other side of the stage, right in front of Denny Walley --

Really crossing my fingers on ZPZ in December. They've got billboards advertising it.

How close to the road are the billboards and how far spaced?

AMAZING :!: My 9th show since '97, and one of the top 3. The 3-D visuals are so fucked and outstanding. Dirty Drowning Man, Bob, and Hats Off were the rarest tracks. Of course they played Over The Falls in Niagara Falls too. Best big rock show of the year. Hope they put out a DVD in time for Christmas from one of these shows.

If it's not a big expense I'd recommend go seeing them. They still put on a great show though not like they did 30 years ago (they don't have the budget for that). They still have 4 original members (including their method front man) which is more than most bands of that age can boast. If it's a club or casino show they get into some deep cuts which is pretty rewarding for a long time fan.

There's a big billboard on the way home from work, on one of the busiest intersections. I was really surprised. Then there's a smaller one right next to the interstate. If they don't sell this out, then it won't be for lack of trying. Maybe because the venue is different than the last time they were in the area.

Devin Townsend 'The Retinal Circus' at the Roundhouse.
Amazing, but the Vai narration was out of sync for the most part.
Fucking amazing gig.
I doubt I'll see the likes of that show again...

So Vai was "narrating" the show via some type of satellite/Internet link and it was asynchronous with the actual performance?
