Might be interesting to post these examples as we come across them.
I was pleased to see Ralph Humphrey credited as one of the percussionists on the soundtrack to Stephen King's I.T (Richard Bellis)

I was quite surprised to hear Mike Keneally play on some tracks of Ulver's "Blood Inside"

And that list isn't even complete. I bought the Blade Runner Soundtrack on vinyl some months ago and found out he played synth on it.

Max Benett was one of the bass players and Shelly Manne was one of the percussionists on the soundtrack recordings for Rosemary's Baby

Ian Underwood and Ralph Humphrey also play on the Manhattan Transfer's Christmas Album from '92.

Max is 83, still plays great, I would recomend anything from his famous band LA Express with Tom Scott.

One of my most horrible vinyls is Shankar - The Epidemics featuring L. Shankar and Steve Vai.

Robbie Krieger's last solo album, Singularity, is like a Zappa reunion. It features Tommy Mars, Arthur Barrow, Vinnie Colaiuta, Sal Marquez, Walt Fowler, Bruce Fowler and/or Albert Wing on seven of its ten numbers.

Agreed. Very likely a candidate for the most horrible record of all time. I bought it and listened to it once when it came out and don't have the slightest intention to put it on ever again.

Bruce Fowler not only contributes to the soundtrack of Short Cuts as player and arranger, he actually appears in the movie (alongside Gene Estes) as part of the club band backing Annie Ross.
