That's a video of FZ doing a solo just coming out of a typical improv section that he used to do with the original Mothers. A lot of his stuff at the time had no names, they were improvisations. He's playing his Les Paul gold top there, which was eventually stolen, someone else here may be able to date this little piece of video and possibly name the context. But it shows there are still quite a few bits and pieces that could be put together for a worthy release at some point.

Welcome to the forum.

BTW, it looks like that A&E biography is just a rerun of the BBC biography. I've got that on disc somewhere and haven't watched it for a while but it seems pretty much the same from memory.

Interesting that it's on film, whatever it is. That's an earlyish version of the band but you can't see enough of them to name the exact period. It's certainly on disc, although I don't know if it's that particular take, and this being Zappa it could be on pretty much any album post-WOIIFTM. It might even be on 'Beat the boots'.

I see there's a poster on Youtube who's using this question as an excuse to listen to his collection again. Hey, I don' need no steenkin' excuse... but I'm gonna do it just the same! 8)

It is some filler from the BBC 1993 where after doc they did 2 hours(fillers)between songs blended with live Munich on link you posted, the Yank guy on A&E and UK dude BBC.

The King Kong Jams are usually in 6/8 and rooted on E flat. This thing, whatever it is, is a straight rock beat, not 6/8 and it's rooted on A. Maybe a precursor to Willie the Pimp.

Your question has kind of been answered. It's not on an official release ... yet anyway. It's an FZ solo that was nested within some typical early Mothers improvisation during a live show and it has no name at this stage.

A similar example might be the Nancy and Mary Music on Chunga's Revenge. It's not really a "song" as such. FZ ended up tidying that up from a section of improvisation and then he gave it a name ... it's from a live show with all kinds of bits and pieces in it including guitar solos, one of which is quite structured so he'd probably been kicking it around a while.

Good explanation poly. Zappa worked things through and they changed, or became something - project/object y'know.
