The polls are showing that legalization of marijuana propositions are set to pass in Colorado and Washington.

Any thoughts on the possible outcome of a victory for weed?

Anyone think the Feds will allow it? How far will they go to stop it?

All the way?

Good luck on it for you - though I doubt they'll do it in the end.

Where will you move to if it passes in both?

the feds will eventually shut them down, but they don't act very fast; in northern california, the feds shut down a couple of dispenseries every few months; they tend to go after the bigger & highly profitable operators

the feds don't actually shut them down directly, they force their landlords to evict medicine-dispensing tenants by threatening to confiscate the building ... they also make credit card companies refuse to take their business, so it's all cash-only

after getting evicted from their storefronts, most become delivery-only, but that makes it tough to maintain patient loyalty, because most patients like to visit the clinic and eyeball the swag, check out specials [like hash wednesdays, early-bird free doobs], hit on the hot babes working the counter, fire up a vaporizer, etc.etc.

Both states are very nice. Colorado is closer.

But, they've been messing with the voting regulations in Colorado.

http://www.bbvforums.org/forums/messages/8/82306.html

It could be one of those times when "the polls were wrong", wink wink.

..and this isn't medical pot. This is straight up recreational use.

It wouldn't surprise me if the National Guard is called out, to protect the citizens from their laws of their state.

ha ha

That's exactly how the Feds get it done over in Sacramento,CA.They weed out the outright profiters.(They charge the same as street value)Where I go they're opening another branch closer to downtown.Thats right, they're expanding! We pay CA.state taxes on all sales* and it varies from each broker as to how much it cost the patients.I get the same stuff at 30-40% off street value. They have a booth at the state fair every year that helps explain the logic of legalization and taxation. It's a valuable resource that we keep in the dark closet with meth and smack and really bad drugs.Damn shame too, alot of returning Vets can benifit from it's properties.

*It's held in a trust for distrabution to the state when they see fit.The interest goe's to several Vet organisations. There's well over 7 figures in there. Most all of the city council does not want MM to go away. They just don't want to see a dispensery next to them.

pretty sure they don't select victims based on their prices, it's probably based on a name count in their data base ...
make it all legal & move on

It is going to get complex if one or more states legalize it. I think that there will be Federal lawsuits and the courts will eventually have their say. What we are seeing now is "the states as laboratories for democracy" at work. The medical pot laws have been tested and different levels of tolerance (NJ is so restrictive that it hasn't been able to work for 3 years) are resulting in differing delivery models.

My belief is that this incremental way of legalization is the only way it will happen. States are realizing the value of taxing it, budgets are tightening and police are sick and tired of the requirement of nuisance busts when they have real crimes to address.

I hope that two states of three pass the recreational referenda, because that will place a lot of burden on the Feds to figure out where to address it.

I am not so negative about the repressive state as some of you....

Well, Obama could sign an executive order making weed the lowest federal enforcement priority.

That would be nice, but he's too much of a tool to ever do that.

roller by trade
quite a bundle he's made
he's unionized rollin' old
son-of-a-gun

diversify, mate, join the washington state trimsters local & claim roller/trimmer status [wage class j3] ... fuck the unioons, be 1st in line the day permits become available, open up a chain of motels just outside seattle,

in the lobby of each of the aforementioned motels
you'll find, at back counter of the bait & tackle shop
beyond the preserved minnows and portugese smelt
a spiffy new rope's dope rockin retail malt shop,
residents can go down and, whenever they want to,
rent a vaporizer, shlep it back up to their rooms ...

They drive slow, but the giggling tends to make them cause more accidents.

Those 5-10 MPH accidents are the worst.Everyone laughing and trying to hide they're stash at once.I woke up the next day after an accident and my ribs hurt so bad from laughing,I thought I bruised one.My cheekbones too! It was almost as funny as shrooms would of been! 8)

Oh yeah, that was just in the parking lot.We never made it out of lot A or the bumpers car lot as we referred to it.

This is a low priority issue. Women's freedom of choice at keeping big government out of her lady parts should be a top priority. It's fascism, nothing more, nothing less.

You are wasting your time in this thread, Spacey. The government ain't gonna be swayed by anything a bunch of potheads say. In fact, it's more likely to get you ignored because they are backing you!

It's a freedom thang, brother...never a low priority!

I'd speak more on the subject, but I've been without work and without internet service for the past two months, so here I am at the local library trying to catch up.

Pathetic, I know, but who cares? At least I'm getting some writing done!

If only there was some substance I could use to make everything all better...hmmmm...

It's hip!
