Apart from the Zappa interest, it's a pretty cool listening experience - especially if you can get excited about raw, energetic surf music from the early Sixties. The most essential tracks are covered on the Cucamonga CD, but if you really like that one, you might want this also. FZ is present in some function on almost all the tracks of the 5 CD set, as musician, writer, producer or engineer.

When I was a young teen, before I'd even heard of Frank Zappa, I fell in love with guitar. I started out with a handful of lessons but got bored and have been self taught ever since. Very early on in that process I got a book of guitar tunes called Rock, Skiffle and Blues. Then I heard Wipeout on the radio and thought it was fantastic. Then, much later on, long after I'd discovered and totally succumbed to the music of Frank Zappa, I found out that Wipeout was recorded on the same machine that some of his earliest recordings would be made on soon after.
