They are playing at a club that 90% of the time has a GA floor. This show they are putting rows of seats in front of the stage, and having GA floor behind it. They call it the golden ring, I think it's a way for the club to make more money. I bought seats in the 6th row.
Looking foward to it.

Those are all the dates? or more TBA? No Buffalo, lame. I'd like to see them at Town Ballroom again, they played there last in fall '07. Last show I saw was Rochester Jazzfest, Eastman Theater this past June. Great show, but not worth $47 to sit in the balcony. I'd rather see them in a 800-1000 seat GA venue, at no more than $30 a pop.

Already have my tix for Jan 25 (Dallas) and Jan 26 (Austin). I'm totally stoked - it will be shows 3 and 4 for me on this tour. I'm also excited to see if they're going to add anything special to the 2013 shows. So...Goodnight Austin Texas wherever you are.

I missed the Council Bluffs one, but my uncle went and said it was good.

I wonder if it's got anything to do with Ike's book and the FZ tribute band that he's in now,For The Love Of Frank? Kinda a long name for my tastes,but it doesn't stick out all that much either.Could Ike be trying to go all stealthy on the ZFT and the ZFT knows this??? It'll be a year in Feb.since they played in N.Ca.and we're so close and easy too.I might have to fly to LA and catch a show.El Bummo man! The $$$'s,not LA or the show.
I guess DZ would be bummed to play in the same town and time as another Zappa tribute band.Really bummed if he didn't sell out and they did.I don't think the ZFT would even chance that.I think they all want avoid the clashing of the MOI Alumni vs the ZFT and family when possible.

He is playing at an upscale place,in a town where DZpZ sells out.It just been along time (a year in Feb.) since DZpZ has played near here.Now it's all pure conjecture as to the why of it and I agree that they don't do anything because of IW.I just wish they would tour this way soon.

ZPZ now seem to stick to 3 North American legs (Winter, Summer & Fall) & 1 UK/European leg (Fall) per year, with a Australian/Japanese leg every other year. And hopefully they'll get to South America one of these days. But basically, I think that's the way it will stay from now on...

Also, when they played Vancouver a few weeks ago, it had been 2 1/2 year since they last played here. So don't worry, they'll play the Bay area again...and probably soon. Just try to keep your panties on, ok?!

No panties,I go camando! They should play even closer.Sacramento and Chico had shows last year.They also play Napa and SF.It's gonna be over a year here for the first time since they've toured.We were spoiled with at least two shows with two tours each year.

Hello good people of this board

The reason there are long breaks between going back to cities is very obvious when you think about it. As much as you want the band to come back year after year, we need to build up anticipation and interest, and we've found that spacing out the plays builds up the anticipation to where we can sustain the touring of this band. In the meantime, and instead, the people in cities like Jackson, MS and Fargo, etc get a chance to see the band, which is really great

Note, the Lakeland,FL show has been cancelled and replaced by Ft. Lauderdale at the Culture Room.
Tickets just went onsale today

Yes, but they're not playing there. ZPZ are playing the Virgin Mobile Corona Theatre. And since it's a small venue (full capacity: 753), it's no surprise it's already sold out well in advance of the show. So I'm sure ZPZ will be back in your neck of the woods shortly. Or as chumcloud said, they, "...are going to be ALL OVER IT come the fall." They'll probably hit Montreal again & Quebec City. And they might even play Gatineau, Sherbrooke, Saguenay & Trois-Rivieres for the first time...
