I'll go with Rush as well Greenie since I didn't purchase any 2012 albums. Still living in the past (the rent is cheaper).

I didn't buy much this year either but I did get the new Van Halen and the new Ian Anderson: Thick As A Brick 2 and those were both pretty good. I'll vote for TAAB2.

Yep. Clockwork Angels is my favourite Rush album since Counterparts (1993). They REALLY hit a Grand-Slam-Home-Run-Out-Of-The-Park with this one. And they played nearly all of it when I saw them live in Seattle last month...

You think wwe're a problem now? Just wait until the coming civil war, when the Democrats and the Republicans kill each other off. Then we'll be down there annexing what's left of your spacious skies, amber waves of grain, purple mountain majesties, and fruity plains!

Hey, no hard feelings Doug. You either Disco Boy. I mean, I am grateful for Dan Aykroyd and all but maybe just maybe the US should refocus it's border concerns to the north.

On Psychedelic Pill. It's a great album, but not the best the Horse has offered. The jams are good, but lyrically it's not as strong as other Crazy Horse albums of the last 20 yrs. Sleeps With Angels, Ragged Glory, Broken Arrow, and Greendale are all superior.

The Neil Young is a great and very loose jam album. I finally saw him live this year in NYC, he looks like he's having a blast.

The new Soundgarden album was better than I expected it to be.

Animals As Leaders - Weightless
Bob Mould - Silver Age

You guys have posted interesting stuff here, I particularly appreciated Alabama Shakes, Melvins and Field Music.

Sebastien Tellier - My God Is Blue

Those are all REAlly GREAT albums but (let's nitpick) only Greendale comes into the "10 year window" I was talking about...However, I feel that this new Album has pretty well summed up the year and most of the past decade in a perfectly orchestrated Rock and Roll record. And for once a HIGH def CD for great sound....That's what us old folks want for fucksakes.

David Byrne/St. Vincent - Love This Giant

Great collaboration with an excellent horn section.
