The UK premiere of the 200 Motels score will be performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, and members of Southbank Sinfonia (conducted by Jurjen Hempel), as part of The Rest Is Noise festival at London’s Southbank Centre on 29 October 2013. Read all about it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-21061287

I had witnessed the 200 Motels performance in the year 2000 in Amsterdam, also conducted by Jurjen Hempel. Absolutely fantastic!

We can only hope that a similar result occurs as with the efforts of the Royal Academy of Music.

This'll be a million times better than seeing ZPZ.
What do you think the program of music will consist of, exactly? Will it be the entire album less the "rocking combo" pieces like Mystery Roach, Lonesome Cowboy Burt, She Painted Up her face (suite) etc.....

Something like this, but without Mats & Morgan: http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/videography/200_Motels.html#Suites200Motels

The Southbank Centre site confirms the involvement of Jurjen Hempel and Claron McFadden, but we've yet to learn who the "large cast of rock musicians, singers and actors" will be.

Traditionally, ZPZ tour the UK at the end of the year, so maybe we'll get them too!

They're making it sound like they're going to attempt the whole shebang. That would be extremely cool, especially if it ends up decently recorded and released afterwards as well.

Thanks James. Fingers crossed they'll be some left on 8th. Tempted to join SBC Priority but I doubt I'd use it again so at 25 quid it works out a bit steep just for this show!

Very few in the front stalls left now. All of the front centre block has sold out, and the left and right blocks are selling fast too. My reckoning is most of the front stalls will be gone before the 8th, and the entire event will definitely sell out by October.

Tickets for the second most important live Zappa related show this year (behind Festival Moo-Ah) are now on sale to the public from RFH. Decent rear stalls tickets available for £25.

I would quite happily have bought a membership if I lived in the UK and got myself a decent ticket to this thing. I am seriously jealous stuck out here in this god forsaken place. Decent music culture vs painfully hot weather and not much else, it's a no brainer.

Thanks for the info.
This page makes it look like a pre-show talk:

Do you know if this will be the case in the US as well?
