It's bad when debate gets so personal. Disco Boy has a problem with angry name calling...I see that...but SPACEBROTHER's "you're a racist" innuendo is getting a little to thick for my taste.

Obviously, both of these posters believe they are correct at all costs. I'm in Disco Boy's camp politically, and I think that SPACEBROTHER is woefully brainwashed. Both, however, kind of act like children.

Not sure why I bother.

You're just mad because I criticise Ron Paul and his well documented racist history, as well as his Conservative Socialist leanings.

Question for both of you...If Ron paul isn't a racist, why did he wait so long (decades) to deny his beliefs as portrayed through his newsletters? Don't you guys think he would have went public to discredit his own newsletters the very moment the letters went public? Would a polititian go out of his way to cover his "colorful" tracks during an election?

...and you call me brainwashed? Get real leash.

...besides, I pick my battles with with very few people here. Honey Boo Boo picks his battles with everybody and anybody, because thats what he's always done, here on the forum for almost as long as there's been a Zappa forum. His list of battles is far more extensive than mine ever will or could be.

Seriously, who gives a shit about Ron Paul anymore? He's yesterday's news. He'll probably be dead before the next presidential election rolls around. Why don't you all just shut up and play a Zappa record?

SPACEBROTHER...the newsletters are moot. Anyone could have printed those up with Ron Paul's name on them.

I'm sick of the inference that Ron Paul is racist, and that anyone who supports him is racist. The evidence is supremely weak. I think people who talk race all the time are racist.

Jim Pope is correct, this conversation is moot. It is now a pissing match.

Those who do not understand Ron Paul and what he is about have been stuffed into the mold.

As I see it, Zappa would have been a supporter of Ron Paul. He certainly would not have supported these wars. That, to me, is plainly true.

So, rather than beat a dead dickhead, I'll just mosey along. You all can think as you please, and I'm sure you will.

Ron Paul would approve of that.

Just don't be so cock-sure you are correct.

Bravado is often the ill child of naivety.

It's hilarious when people start a sentence with the words: "if Zappa was alive he would.........."

Basically, they always say some variation of "he would agree with me".

I'd lose respect for Zappa if he was supporting any of these politicians.

I think we can pursue his interviews, and study his lyrics, and come up with a good idea of what he might think on any current issue.

You don't? You think he would be a paranoid xenophobe like George W. Bush? Not much chance of that. Unpredictable? I think not.

I'm not saying Frank would agree with me as way to bolster my points. I think if you study the man, it would be clear that he probably would.

You don't think so?

Good for you!

DB, your last post was just a dick getting bigger. I may not be right about any number of political concepts, and my shit may well reek, but seriously, I'm telling you as someone who wanted to think of you as a friend - you are being a dick, so if you want to continue to declare your opinions as fact and everyone else as stupid for not agreeing with you, then you've made your own bed. Seriously, this battle is not worth the anger and bile you are putting into it.

Wtf?! YOU had it coming. Read your own posts. I don't give shit to ANYONE unless they have it coming first. And ANYONE who knows me knows that.

Secondly, what you don't seem to understand is that the info I went over with you is FACT, not opinion based (it's not like we're talking about favourite albums, etc.). And you won't find a human being alive that will disprove that. Trust me. But the problem here with some of you hard lefties, is that it's either you can't admit it, for more than obvious reasons, or that you're extremely ignorant towards the particular info. Also, I'm not declaring anyone else here "stupid", apart from tweedle-dumb and tweedle-dee. Though, there are MANY here that are extremely ignorant (including myself in certain areas)...

DB, RK is on the money here. I used to like and respect you on this forum, but you now seem quite irrational...no joking. you have strong beliefs...fair enough, but others have opinions also. who's to say you are right and they are wrong? not you surely, as you (and they) are biased like that. the whole "ron paul/not ron paul" argument is dead. he ain't coming back regardless of what you think of him.

you can bag me now if you like. it doesn't matter to me. why not move on to more serious concerns, like the health of the environment or native species habitat destruction, or NFL or something...

No, he's NOWHERE near, "on the money." In fact, he's so far from it, that he already jumped off the cliff long ago...

STFU.

Again, I don't give SHIT to anyone who doesn't have it coming first.

Meanwhile, tweedle-dumb keeps spinning like a spindle. He might as well have himself a squat on the cosmic utensil...

Ron Paul And Zappa phase two
(is this phase three of phase one?)

Maybe Ron Paul and Zappa would go skiing together in the Swiss Alps. There is an avalanche and FZ gets trapped under the snow. Ron Paul is drunk in the lodge trying to fuck some college girl who has a cast on her arm. He straps a flask of whiskey to the neck of a Saint Bernard dog and sends him up the mountain to rescue Frank. Meanwhile, Zappa has already escaped and is in the lobby of the hotel writing on napkins. It's a song dedicated to Ron Paul called Save Our Really Fantastic Country, Children. Or maybe it's "Country Children" without a comma. Back at the lodge Ron Paul pisses himself and passes out, or maybe he throws up on the girl and passes out.

Too bad DB... this is kinda lame. Clearly, you don't give a shit and I get that. I guess I'd rather know that you are more happy being a dick than hear what I have to say whether you agree or not. Fish gotta swim, girls wanna have fun, do your thing DB. Maybe if you broke it down in 10 parts I'd see it your way, nahhh, THAT was a joke! Hahahaha :)

nice story line, d-m, go with a husky, just follow the yellow trail thru the avalanche ...

meanwhile, when the college girl [the skinny one from albequerque, on vacation in the alps, still insensitive to climatic changes] doesn't pooch l.ron paul on the first day, he sends her out for the flask; when she leaves, he starts sniffing the girl's panties ...

After sniffing the girl's panties, Ron Paul felt an intense feeling of guilt. A guilt that was so all consuming, that he cried out to the Lord. Suddenly, the door burst open and in stormed Frank Zappa.
"Let us pray together, Ron!"
So like two brothers who agree on everything, they knelt and prayed that anti-abortion laws should be passed in any state that wants to pass them.
"Thank you, Frank, you're my only real buddy" said Ron.
"You've got one buddy that's bigger than me!" said Frank.
"You mean Disco Boy?" chuckled Ron.
"Bigger even than Disco Boy!" growled Frank, looking heavenwards.
Upon which both burst into song. "What a friend we have in Jeezzuus" they sang in harmony with Ron taking the soprano and Frank the baritone. I'm sure Doug has a bootleg of this rendering.

You mean that "shitty" book that predicted this current financial mess that resulted in the form of a Housing Bubble Crisis, way back in 1957 (gotta love those crazy FACTS)?!

You betcha! Only, it's not "shitty" or a "turd."

Excellent interview. And even more PROOF that FZ was far closer to the beliefs of Libertarianism than the hard lefties here would EVER care to admit.

Actually, I was going to post this clip in this very thread to hammer home even more of my points. So, thanks for posting it before me.

I think I'll have to watch it again shortly...
