The Palace used to be a nice venue for concerts - at least in the 80s. I was there a few times.

Everybody used to hate the '84 tour. Viewed from the "distance of time", I like the '84 tour much more now than the '88 tour. The '84 tour has a much better spirit. And I don't remember Frank ever being in a better mood on stage since 1974/75.

Probably on youtube somewhere... I was watching an old Funny or Die episode and a girl was admiring a guy's moustache and says something like "I've photographed all the great ones, Salvadore Dali, Sonny Bono, Zappa"

For the curious, the subject of the documentary scored by The Mothers is no longer a man:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Duff

I always enjoyed imagining that they somehow caused Mr./Mrs. Duff's decision.

Very cool man! Do we call you The Mighty Zor (TMZ) or stick to the tame mutronboy? (MB) Thanx for posting bro'.Has Petulant Frenzy & Glenn Woods (sound man for DZpZ) ever crossed paths in South Africa? They both look about the same age and diggin' FZ plus being S.Afrikaners and all,it seems like it would be a smaller crowd of people in the "biz".Just wonderin'. {-

Hey Kapt.Kirk, glad you liked it!
Petulant Frenzy haven't played outside Australia, but Kendall (trumpet player) played with
ZPZ when they toured here last. Maybe the band got to meet Glenn Woods (not sure)
There's better quality footage of the Frenzy on Youtube, but I thought I'd put a few of
my low budget vids up for purely anthropological reasons
I might put up Holiday in Berlin next 'cos I don't think that's been done for a while heh
Cheers Mutronboy (The Mighty Zor)

Anyone heard this before? Is this part of the Paul Buff catalog? It sure sounds like FZ on back-up vocals and whoever posted this on youtube sez: "FZ is credited with playing all the instruments." Listen to the guitar lick, what do y'all think? One of the commenters sez: "It's Ray Collins singing lead." Now that makes alittle more sense and they both loved doo-wop music.
Signed,Glazed and befuddled in Turlock.

Not only is it part of the Buff catalogue, it also appears on the "Cucamonga" album. The "Cucamonga" liner notes say...

This from pg. 79 of "Zappa" by Barry Miles...

How do I get my hands on a fair priced copy of it and all the etcetera's? I swear jpd your gonna make a real Zappa fan outta me yet,eh? I thought all was lost from Studio Z except the sex tapes he got busted for.Was this actually recorded at Studio Z? If not, where then,if you know? It's so cool to learn or find something new about FZ,it's right up there with flagrant sex!
